Heard this story on another Message board

On the Fan this morning, Mike Hogan was talking about an email he recieved from a Leafs fan who lives in Ottawa. Apparantly, the local sports station have been encouraging Sens fans to go out and steal Leafs flags, and in return they get a "Leafs ... t-shirt. One person went as far as to trespass on private property, climbed a flagpole and cut down a Leafs flag. The man that owns the flag lives near the Corel Centre and flies his Leaf flag proudly all year long. This was bothersome to the morning show guys and they dared anyone to take the flag down. Then it was said that this stolen flag would be brought to the Corel Centre on April 3rd and the Sens fans would be able to walk all over it as they entered the arena.
I hope the owner of the flag calls the cops on the radio station, cuz they are inciting criminal activity! Are they so desperate in Ottawa for attention that they turn to breaking the law?
As a side note...the Fan has offered to replace the man's flag.

It's already been covered, but i'll address some mistruths, as I listen to the program that is being referred to daily.

Not true at all.

The flag was not on private property, herein lies the point. It was hanging over a highway sound barrier which is not permitted.
The morning show said 'somebody ought to take that down', and a Sens fan took it upon themselves to do it.

No. A fan called in and said - in jest - he would bring in a Leafs flag for people
to step on, and in return they would have to donate to the food bank.

Not that it makes it right, but the flag wasn't supposed to be there to begin with.
