leadership

I keep waiting for the balloon to bust. Surely, this remarkable run must end. With all the talent that Detroit , Colorado, and Dallas can buy, they haven't put up a string like this ever. 17 games without missing out on a point. This is a period in oiler history that will be remembered for a long time.

We don't have the biggest budget. We don't have the best goaltending. Our defense has us 15th in the league in gaa. We are not in the top 10 in scoring. We have a few vets but they have not been relied on to exlusively carry the team. The only thing I can think of is leadership.

We have a few key guys in this organization who refuse to give up and this has been adopted by the entire team. Guys like Lowe, MacT, Smyth, Smith, Ethan, and Eric are setting an example that the entire organization has adopted. The acceptable standard is different here than any other team. With all the adversity, could you imagine a nother team coming back from 11 points down with 25 games to play?

Made all the more spectacular because it came exactly when they needed it. I mean, it borders on the impossible.

Oates has helped a lot with this playoff push and I am sure nedved has too.

and I couldn't imagine another coming back like the oilers did this season.

p.s. the oilers as of tonight have 212 GF 9th in the league

forgot about Oates. For his minimal offensive contributions, I think he has been a steadying influence on the young guys. Lowe didn't give up anything for him and now Stoll and Horcoff are 2 of the better young face-off guys in the NHL.
