Saprykin

With the suspensions to Oliwa and Simon, Saprykin will get some ice time. If this doesn't light a spark under his butt, I don't know what will. This is a perfect opportunity for him to show Sutter he will be able to contribute, AND play responsibly. Let's see what he does with it..................

Well, he drew back into the line-up, but ultimately ended up benched.

Draw your own conclusion.

He hook the guy on his way to the bench. One of the dumbest penalties that you can get . Saprykin did it because he got nice clean hit from this player ( DiMaio if Im correct), so thats the way he responded...

Saw this one live and the Stars player (think it was Dimaio or Barnes) went down extremely easily. I'm not trying to say it wasn't a bad penalty to take but the refs could have easily called the Dallas player for embellishing it.

I've seen worse penalties.

I think if Oleg dosn't wake up and play he'll be gone next season. Sutter won't stand for it.

He'll be on the 3rd line tonight.... lets see what he can do.

Hey, Saprykin is probably not the most marketable commodity out there....but if we could package him and a first would it be enough to move up and pick Ladd? Assuming Ladd would go around 7-10?

Why would anyone want to move down 23-20 Draft positions to get Sappy??

I think that would easily get it done. I don't think Sutter would make that kind of move. Giving up two very good assets (Saprykin and the 1st) for one. Doesn't really make much sense. I'm not sure his trade value is as low as you are suggesting. Plenty of teams out there looking for potential top two line scoring wingers who are as young as he is.

You may be right there, I might be too down on him right now

How about Saprykin and a first for a teams first and second?

We could just keep Saprykin and have faith in our drafting abilities.

You won't get much for Saprykin and it's a bigger risk to trade him. He stays.

I dont think we should be picking another defenceman with our first pick this year. Either a goalie or a scorer. Probably a goalie since the best goal-scorers will have all been taken by the time we draft.

I can't see a goalie being picked, we're already in good position there. We need offence!

T. Button was on the radio saying that Sutter has said they can pick a goalie in the first if they feel strongly about one. Supposed to be a strong year for goalies. Button mentioned Schwarz, Montoya and Dubnyk as well as somebody else from the WHL (Pogge perhaps? He wouldn't be in consideration for our 1st I don't think.)
