Pat Quinn/Bobby Orr Videoclip

Hey all, I was just wondering if any of you can tell me where I can find an online clip of the Pat Quinn hit on Bobby Orr and the ensuing rumble with the Boston fans.

Post a link or PM me if you can help. I am working on a website and would REALLY like that clip.

Hey I have been searching for that as well. The incident occurred in a first round matchup with the Boston Bruins on April 2, 1969.
I have just sent an email to Leafs TV. They always show all these old maple leaf classic games. I asked them if they could show that one. They might be hesitant cause they don't want to show all that fighting that happened but I it doesn't hurt to ask. If they do, then I will tape it. I'll keep you posted.

I have a videotape called "The Best of Bobby Orr" and it's on there. Quinn totally catches him with a little knip of the elbow, and Orr goes down like a ton of bricks. Police had to escort Quinn out of the building.

For real eh???? wow!! Where did you get that tape? Is it available to buy somewhere? Escorted out of the building??? That is classic!!!!

I also heard that the next season after that, Orr went after Quinn and knocked him out. I don't know how true it is but I read that.

I got the tape from MusicWorld in Limeridge Mall in Hamilton. It's a really good tape and it just shows that little bit. Orr's breaking out of his own zone with his head down along the boards, and Quinn plants the elbow, knocking Orr out. I think it shows Espo resting Orrs head on a glove, while about 5 other players are going after Quinn.

Hey I live in Hamilton too and will go to Limeridge to see if they still have it.
Well Quinn has said that they are really good friends now and that was just part of playing. They both have put it behind them which shows the traits of two exceptional professionals leaving it on the ice.

But can't wait to see that hit. Many thanx for the referrels.

Hey no problem, here is a picture of the video:

Edit: Just so you know, it doesn't show Quinn being escorted out of the building, which kind of sucks.

That's ok them not showing Quinn being escorted out, although it would be something to see. And it's not that I want to see Orr get knocked out either. I just want to see how Quinn laid his bodychecks and what kind of player he looked like out there. Thanx for the picture of the Video.

Q / Orr

The best part of that story is after the game. Q was a rookie and as such they had to do a lot of crappy things. When the bus left the Boston Garden they stopped for some beer at the local pub. They SENT Q in to buy it, he wondered whether he'd get out alive.
They were certainly different times than now.
ps - if you get the chance, get that tape - it is a dandy, Orr is / still is the best player to ever lace them up...........period.
