Reggie Miller would only get like 10 minutes a game and he would be a good veteran off of the bench, and considering the fact that we dont have a bench right now, I'd take him.
wow having reggie miller off the bench would be sweeeet.
this shows that the two trades (garnett/allen) immensely helped the celtics because it seems that much more players want to come to boston. hopefully the bruins will realize as the celtics did that if we can bring in a big time player people will actually want to play here. granted we have some great young talent we still lack a proven veteran leader. yeah chara is big and the captain but not the guy that will bring in more players to boston. not that the players are going out of there way to not play here, i just think adding a BIG TIME player will convince players previously nuetral about boston to play here, although now a days with the cap signing a huge player would make it much more difficult to bring in many other big names. oh well thats just my two cents.
And I hate Reggie Miller. I hate everything about him. The day he retired was one of my happiest days as a basketball fan. I really don't want him anywhere near the Celtics bench, I can't even stand seeing him on TV as an announcer/commentator.

I can see why they're wanting to bring Reggie and Mutombo... they're gonna have a team of players loaded with skill who dominated the game at some point in their career, but don't have rings. I'd say Pierce, Allen, Garnett and Reggie are all deserving of that championship ring. It's just something that bandwagon hoppers will come to appreciate come playoff time
hate Reggie all you want now, you'd love him for the reasons above when the Celts make it to the playoffs

Mutombo? Who needs Mutombo when you have Scot Pollard?
And I'm sure Reggie would provide a good veteran presence, but he's about to turn 42, and he hasn't played in two years. He's retired for a reason. On top of that, I just can't stand the guy, and having him on the team would ruin the season for me, and after all this offseason excitement I'm actually looking foward to watching the Celtics play. I want to bring in Mutombo, I want to pick up a good veteran point guard to split time with Rondo, but I don't want Reggie Miller. It's like the Bruins going out and signing Scott Stevens. He was a great player at one point, but he's old and isn't going to add much to the team outside of the locker room.
Yes, December 7th-8th they play Toronto and Chicago back to back. Toronto at home and Chicago on the road. I think they lose to Chicago.
BTW, did anyone hear Phil Jackson's comments the other day?
"We call this a 'Brokeback Mountain' game, because there's so much penetration and kickouts, it was one of those games."
Nothing but pure class from Phil
Have you watched Chicago this year? They look absolutely terrible... Too many players in contract years, they're playing for individual stats so they can increase their value, rather than doing what's best for the team. The fans in Chicago have even started chanting "Kobe" at home games. The Bulls are a mess right now. Toronto has a much better shot at beating the Celtics than the Bulls do.

I don't follow the NBA much beyond the C's. It bores me. I was thinking more of the back to back games with a tough game against Toronto and then having to travel to Chicago and play a talented but underachieving team. It's a let down game that Chicago could take advantage of. I don't really see anyone beating them before those two games.

Yeah, it's possible, but Chicago has been quite a disappointment this year.
On a side note, does anyone have any extra tickets for tomorrow's game?
I was iritated with the Broons loss and flipped over to watch the Celts lose to Charlotte- bad night, only problem was, an improbable and amazing finish on an inbound pass deflected by Eddie House and ended up with Ray Allen nailing a 3 to win by 1. Incredible

Did the same. The last minute of that game in NC was ugly, but Ray Allen is the ****ing man. That is all.
This Celts team has something, has "it". I know it's early, but they are playing really well and winning games that they shouldn't be. Even their 1 loss was only by 2 after a terrific comeback. The Celts are going places this season.
