tough game. Legace has been great for the Blues but outside of their top line (with the possible exception of David Perron) the Blues seem to be having a hard time scoring.
Maybe the key is to get a nashville spy into Paulie's hotel room to switch his calender date to March, then he shouldn't be too much trouble.... i kid, i kid, i wish him the best just don't freakin score against us!
Wow, I love that "Nashville is Talking" Video!!!!!! Reading excerpts from random blogs on the subject in a halting voice and then having the balls to say "reporting from the news room" in her sign-off is priceless!!!!
I think this is my first missed home game of the year so yell a little louder for me.
I never, EVER liked Paul Kariya. I never have, including in his time here as a Predator. He did some good things for the team, no one can deny that, but I'll always look at him as a complimentary player, not the sort to be counted on.
That said, I look forward to seeing hits put on him, and watching him sail passes into the skates of his teammates from the half-wall on the PP.
Trotz may talk a mean game about scratching veterans in the future if they don't perform, but it is certainly no surprise to me who is scratched tonight.
Also with DJ King out there.....does Hordi finally get to dress, or do we keep with the forward crew who is getting it done?
I frankly like the fact that we have been able to truly roll 4 lines....when Hordi is dressed, that just doesn't happen.
I don't know who I would sit to dress Hordi, honestly.....

Hordichuk has been injured, I'm not sure if he's ready to go yet.
Well, we completely dominated that game, but lost in the shootout. I'm glad to get a point, but I'm highly disappointed to give up another point to a divisional foe.
As an aside, I hate the shootout. Its fun to watch if you are at the game, but it is a completely unfair way to decide a game IMO.

Nights like these is why the shootout should be done away with ... period
Has Legwand ever been in a shootout? If he has, it's been 1 or 2 times tops. Is there a known reason why Legwand is rarely, if ever, used in a shootout?
He must really suck at it in practice, because I can't understand why you wouldn't give him a shot. I understood maybe a little when you had 2 of Kariya, Sully, and Radulov around. I mean, the goal in Toronto? The Hatcher goal in the playoffs? The OT penalty shot at MSG? The man can beat a goalie one on one. Right?
Maybe there's something really obvious that I'm missing, or maybe there's a minimum tooth requirement for shootout selection?
I like how everyone complains if we lose in a shootout, yet everyone keeps quiet when we win in a shootout. I agree it sucks, but its here so deal with it. I'm just glad Kariya didn't score.
ah well an ot loss but a fairly dominant performance, so yay for that.
I was really interested to see Kariya v Mason in the shootout, afterall those 2 guys were our money men the last 2 seasons in the extra, extra period, yay mason!
also classy to see the crowd applaud kariya's montage pre game and great to see them boo him like any opposition player in the shootout.
Not to ruffle any feathers or rub anyone the wrong way here. Our team board didn't even have a thread for this one (unless my bleary blue eyes failed me.) Anyway, I would say the Blues were lucky to win the game, although Toivonen certainly held his own in the crease. I wouldn't prefer a shootout for deciding a tie game, but that's just the way it is (now). I think part of the Predators' dominance could be attributed to the Blues just battling the Blue Jackets the night before, coming in without "fresh" legs.

Oh definitely. This makes the 2 points even more important for your team - 1st win in Nashville in 2-3 years, A win cominb off a back-to-back, and A win when you were outplayed......your team found a way to get it done.....well I guess you could say Toivenen played a HECK of a game.
Blues fans, when they come into our building, are worse than Red Wing fans.
I've never been surrounded in such a way by rude, disrespectful, obnoxious, DRUNK fans the way I was last night. They were mocking little kids who were participating in the Predators chants, making fun of EVERY SINGLE THING on the megatron, and repeatedly telling everyone around them, "prepare to be embarassed."
the "yeaaaaaaaah BOY-EEEEES" chant every time Boyes was on the ice was bad, as well.
They were also the ones spearheading the "BLUUUUES" yell during the national anthem. It almost made the game hard to watch, it was so distracting.
On the note of the game...we've won a ton of games where the situation was reversed, so all you can really do is suck it up and take the point. The only troubling thing is that we seemingly CANNOT score in the shootout anymore, despite having several guys with slick moves one-on-one, and that our PP had the opportunity in the third to likely put the Blues to bed, and proceeded to have two of the worst individual power play showings of the year. It's just not getting any better.
Mason had a pretty spectacular game, despite the relatively low shot count.
You could tell Weber is getting his legs out there, he looked a lot more tentative than he's looked in a while, and his icetime seemed limited.
Defensive giveaways persist, particularly from Hamhuis and Suter...hoping Weber's return will ease the pressure on them a bit and they can get it going again.

Yep. I never thought I would see worse fans than RW fans, but Blues fans that come here take that dubious honor.

I'm still pissed about this game. Trotz said in his post game conference that Mitch Korn told them how to beat Toivonen but they didn't listen well enough. And it was obvious during the game. Lift the damn puck up. If Radulov could have done that on his breakaway we win. But he didn't so you would think he learned his lesson for the shootout but no, he does the same exact move, into Toivonen's pads. Erat made the same move. No one on this team seems to know how to shoot the puck up to the top of the goal.
And we are a sparkling 1-7 on shootout attempts this year.
We should have come out and run over them in the first period. They had played the night before and were all hyped up from it being Al MacInnis night and getting a win, so we should have come out hitting and wear them down from the beginning.
Super happy for Mason to stop Kariya in the shootout. He knows Mason knows that he goes high glove so he mixed it up but Mason was there for the save.
Tootoo probably had his best shift of his entire career in the second period. Glad to see him get another goal. I knew once I mentioned not taking penalties he would start piling up again. But he got a goal to make up for it.
Congrats to Legwand for tying the record for points by a NASHVILLE Predator!!
Now go break the record in St.Louis!
