So true, but there are some good Canadian micro-brews out there; Paddock Wood and Bushwakkers in Sask. are great, as well as MacAuslan, Unibroue, and Dieu Du Ciel in Quebec. For the most part though, I'd take most offerings from Great Lakes Brewery, Founders, Bell's, Victory, and many others over what I can get in my area of Canada.

the Northwest region micro-brews (Oregon and Washington) are probably the best in North America, IMO. however, there are definitely some good ones in the Northeast between PA, NJ, NY and New England... I love Magic Hat, for example.

Yeah the Northwest region does have some great beer (Deschutes, Rogue, HOTD). The one I really want to try is The Abyss from Deschutes. However, I believe that the breweries in Great Lakes Region (Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Penn.) offer just as much variety and quality of brews as anywhere in the world.
I played a drinking game last night...the loser had to go through something called liquid hell.
The deck is shuffled. Ten cards are then laid out (face down). If a 2-10 are flipped, nothing happens. The card is discarded, and the next is flipped. If a J is flipped, you take one drink, and one more card is laid face down after discarding the card. If a Q is flipped, you take two drinks, and two more cards are laid face down. If a K is flipped, you take three drinks, and three more cards are laid face down. If an A is flipped, you take four drinks, and four more cards are laid face down. You keep going until the entire pile laid down by the dealer ends up in the discard pile. If the dealer runs out of cards, you keep playing without replacing the cards, regardless of the suit/number/face.
Since i'm from Finland none of you probably know the Finnish beers i drink, so no point in listing those. I'm a fan of Czech's beer however, and the dark Velkopopovický Kozel is my favourite. Also really like the other dark Czech beer such as Litovel Dark, Krusovice etc. I drink occasionally London Pride, London Stout and Kilkenny from UK/Ireland aswel.
The problem with the Finnish pubs though is that in a regular pub, there are like 2 different beers from a tap, usually from the same brewery, and the only difference between the two is the amount of alcohol they have (one around 4,5%, another around 5,3%). If you want dark beer you either have to buy it in a bottle or go to some more 'special' place to get it, which is ofcourse almost always more expensive. Sucks to like dark beer in Finland.
I'm looking forward to drinking many beers throughout the day today. Then later tonight I'm going to Atlantic City for a midnight poker tourney, so the beers will keep on rolling!
