How much is too much?

I'd like to have your guys' opinion on what you think is too much practise/hockey games for a player. Of course, it varies with how seriously you take hockey and what level you play in. For instance, in a 9 day span, I had 5 games and 4 practises. (1 day without, 1 day with 2 practises). I play quite competitive hockey. I train with a team that plays in the 3rd swiss league.
In the beginning I thought it would be beneficial, but as the days came along, I feel more and more tired. How do you know when it's too much.

p.s. I can barely stay awake during class and I feel like I've just ran a marathon when I go up some stairs .

if your getting paid, it's never to much. If it's just at hobby and has no chance of progressing into a "job." That'd be to much for me.

It varies depending on the person completely...for me, I play 4 days a week (Saturday through Tuesday) and I think 5-6 days a week would be better for me. Some people would be better playing only 1-3 times a week though. I think you definitely need 1-2 days rest no matter what, maybe even 3.

Varies person to person, and it depends on the intensity and length of the workouts. It sounds like you probably need more rest days. Remember to get a lot of sleep, it makes a huge difference.

yeah, I get about 6 hours a sleep every night. That's definitely not enough. I guess I should be getting at least 8-9 hours to be in good shape.

I'd be on the ice every day if I could but my wallet wouldn't cope. Neither would my job.

But if I could have as much or as little ice as I wanted, I would probably do 6 days out of 7, of varying intensity and perhaps times.

All depends on who you are and what else you have to do.

Most studies find that seven to eight is sufficient.

well I personally do 2 hrs a day 6 days a week (1 hr off ice 1 hr on ice or shooting/stickhandling) not including game days so if you play competitive 2+ hrs 6 days a week is good but if it is rec then 1hr and 3-4 days is good aswell

For normal people. But with that much physical activity I believe he needs more.
It's why every single NHLer has a nap every day.

Koh, in my opinion you're being overworked. It's not just a physical strain but a mental one too.

I don't know how you can correct it, but try to find to take more time off or at least squeeze in more naps here and there.

Unless you're playing pro (and doing nothing else in your life) more than 5 times a week is too much.

Here we go... Get enough sleep and your perception will change. Remember, if your hobby interferes with your job, consider quitting the stupid job

I agree that at least 7 preferably 8 or more hours of sleep per night. I dont skate 5 times a week but I work out about 5-6 days a week and get 7 hours of sleep a night. Between work and working out that is all I have time for. I sleep on the train for an hour a day though. Adding to your 6 hours of sleep should help you feel better.
