okay, so edmonton loses tonight. they have 35 wins and one more game than us...87 points.

we won...which gives us 36 wins...one game in hand...87 points.

if they lose one of their next two games...we only have to win one of our next three games...and we're in. if they win both, we can afford one more loss, but i'd rather it not come down to having to win the last game of the season. in short...sorry oilers fans...but...we've just become fans of whatever team you're playing

Here the situation if the Oilers lose to Dallas in regulation, and we win vs Chicago or anybody else we clinch a playoff spot We hold both tie breakers vs Edm in this senerio

I would love to see the Oilers make it but we need Dallas to win in regulation.

I'm hiding my face in shame that I am cheering for a Big market overpaid team like Dallas to beat a small market hard working team like Edm.

But Go Stars

The Oil play the Stars tomorrow. Dallas leads the series 2-1 with 2 OT wins. If Dallas wins and the Preds win on Thursday, they are in. The game is in Dallas and Edmonton doesn't have a good road record whereas Dallas has an otherworldly home record. Dallas is playing for a better playoffs spot so they still have quite a bit of incentive. If Dallas wins and the Preds win that sure would that make the St. Louis game sweet. But I'm predicting an Oil win. Too much is going against them for it to work out in our favor. It's almost too easy.

Dallas needs to win in Regulation not OT in this one for us to clinch a spot with a win.

Right, that was assumed but I should have posted it as such.

One would think I was the biggest Stars fan in the world as I watch that game tomorrow night.
