I love Dan Kelly Jr. for Columbus, hes awesome. Except for every time Nash gets the puck its, "The 19 year old, leads the league in goals." Every other time he's great.

btw-- Pizza Smiley??????????????

I grew up with the Hab annoucers of the 60's, 70's and 80's....Danny Galavin and Rene Lecavalier. No one but no one can touch those two guys!!! except for the announcer of the St.Louis blues - I forget his name - he worked the blues games in the 70's and 80's. That's it. This recent crop of announcers are amateurs.

I like Randy Hahn and Drew Remenda. Homers? yes, but they call the game as they see it and are unbiased when talking penalties and officials. They also make the game interesting. Good for a laugh.

Honorable Mention: Jim Lange and Bob Errey(Olczyk was better).

By the way, to whomever asked: TB TV announcers are Rick Peckham and Bobby Taylor.

Radio guys are Dave Mishkin (and his high pitched screams ) and Phil Esposito.

Mike Lange always does a nice job on TV, but is a fantastic radio announcer.

No question that Jeanneret (sp) is the most entertaining for highlights, but I'd have to go with Hughson. He used to call games on TSN in the early 90's and I still remember the way he'd say... "Heeeeeeerrrre's Maaaaarrrrrioooo" as Lemieux started a breakaway at center ice, then just let the fans cheering handle the rest. No need for words, it's on TV afterall. Brilliant.

The late, great Dan Kelley was the Blues announcer. Great call. Agree on Gallivan... best of all time in my books.

I sound like a homer for saying this.....(Never on this board!)....but Hall-of-Fame announcer Mike Lange is easily top 3....I understand people have their announcing preferences, so that's why I will not say #1.....for anyone!............

........except one who is not involved in hockey, therefore does not count here.......... ........."Cubs Win! Cubs Win!".........Makes you want to grab a Budweiser!

You are in the majority. Thorne sucks. His voice is fine. But he is normally clueless. Not normally...always.

Thanks. Are any of the other announcers "assigned" to the rest of the Canadian teams?

I wish the Hawks were a better team if for no other reason than to hear Pat Foley's great work. In addition, I enjoy Sam Rosen/JD, any telecast that invloves Bill Clement and Mike Emrick. I haven't heard them all.

Bob Cole and Harry Neale. I am not taking them because I am Biased though. I just think they have been the best in the business for as long as I can remember. They are Biased for the Leafs yes but they are still by far the best in the NHL. Best of all time in my books.
