Something I noticed is that Bergeron on Edmonton has a higher PPG. (0.5), and is a +13. He's only played 52 games, but he does lead all rookie D-men in PP ice time/game.
And could I just point out (since nobody realizes), that Dmitri Kalinin is the same age as guys like Liles and Bergeron (born in 1980), has played 281 games already, and is doing a marvelous job right now as a #1 guy with Zhitnik injured. Mark my words when I tell you that Kalinin is FOR REAL. No doubt. He's putting similar numbers as these rookies but his defensive game is FAR superior to his offense. Although this year he's posting career offensive numbers, and his offense has gotten better each season. This guy has the potential to become a special player. Considering his age, the fact that he's played games this year in which he had over 30 mins of ice-time, he is a ways ahead of most 23 year old defensemen. This "veteran" kid might play for Team Russia in the World Cup.
(Sorry I wanted to post this about Kalinin w/o opening a new thread)
