Jed Ortmeyer

How is he doing with you guys? Is he on your penalty kill? Whats your favorite thing about him?

I was a big Ortmeyer fan when he played for the Rangers. He was our best PKer at the time as well.

Ortmeyer's leave was the most effective on me.

He's a good grinder/3rd/4th liner ... I like the way he PKs, plays with his heart/soul ... kinda like Greg Zanon

He was my favorite Ranger and the day he signed here he became my favorite player here! I was really surprised that the Rangers let him go.

He should have a few goals now, but he's been robbed by a goalie and a post or 2. He really hustles on the PK and never gives up on a play. Blocks a lot of shots, too.

I really like the line he's on right now with Bonk and Smithson...the SOB line, lol. They kept Rick Nash off the scoresheet for 2 games in a row.

Like I said in the other Ortmeyer thread.... I thought he'd be another Tootoo type all out hustle and bang player but he's not on Tootoo's level, especially when it comes to finishing checks.

Orts is a 4th liner and though he might get some good chances he's not a good finisher. He is an all out hustler though and great on the pk. An insane at times shot blocker--just throwing his body anyhow and anyway at the shooter.

Ortmeyer had multiple chances tonight, probably his best overall game for us.

I hope so.

I was expecting someone with more talent, someone more physical and all and all a better hockey player than the player I've seen so far.

Honestly, did you all think we were gettting another Smithson when we signed him?

Yea Ortmeyer! His SH goal got them going. We just needed a break and he got it. Even though he deserved at least one more.

Finally! Here's to a few more!

Love the Jedster and miss him. Especially in a game like Monday when the Rangers were sleep walking against Carolina. When Jed was here he was our best defensive forward. He led by example. If he had hands, he'd be another Yzerman.

I wish him, and thusly the Preds all the luck in the world. Treat Jed well. He's a great kid!
