that's what makes this sport so freaking unique ... some nights you completely out play your opponent and the opponent's goalie stands on his head ... I harken back to earlier this season

Wed Nov 7, 2007 Predators Red Wings 2 - 3 O
Sat Nov 10, 2007 Blue Jackets Predators 3 - 4 W

Ugh.

Why am I not surprised.

Notice that this doesn't happen in any other sport. Only in hockey.

Stupid Canadian media. And judging on how stupid alot of Canadian posters on HFBoards are, I see that it carries over.

Looks like some of our good luck was no where to be found tonight. We got scored on in some of the worst parts of the game and failed to find a way to beat Toskala.

Still a productive road trip though.

did you watch it?

I watched the entire game... Nashville did not dominate. The shots don't tell the whole story... While Toskala made 3 highlight saves, they were pretty much it... What doesn't show up on the stats were the number of near misses that the Leafs failed to get across the goal line or under the crossbar...

I think Toronto played an excellent game - with a 5-7 minute stretch in the 3rd that Nashville really took it to them...

You guys shouldn't take what Bill Watters says seriously. He's a buffoon.

You're asking ME if I watched it? Dude, they had 5 shots per period. Toskala made a lot more than 3 good saves. I think this was his best start as a Leaf, in fact.

Well at least the Blues lost in regulation.

Whats the point of dressing Hordichuk? He had 3:11 of ice time, was a -1 and had 1 hit. He provides nothing offensively, I'd rather give that ice time to Erat.

I think Toronto outplayed Nashville in the first period. After that it was all Nashville. And Vesa. I can't believe those saves on Arnott.

Arnott had 12 shots on goal, and the whole Toronto team had 15!

At least we got one goal and broke the shutout. Good for Weber to finally get a goal, hopefully the first of many many more this year.

Toskala put on a highlight night. He saved them or we would have had about 3-4 more goals.

Lucky bounce goals for TO. The puck bounced right to their players sticks.

Hope Bonk is OK. Weird collision with Steen where neither saw each other but Bonk got the worst it seemed.

Oh well, just one of those nights when nothing will get by the goalie. (maybe if we "Don't ******* with a winning streak!" we would have won )

I doubt hordy is cutting into erats ice time. the guys gotta rest some time!

Less playing time is normal for not playing in a few weeks.

Furthermore, there was no one else to dress unless we go with 8 dmen

But it is unfortunate that he's even playing. i wouldn't be hurt if he's scratched the rest of the season except when a fighter is needed.

I'll buy that Toronto played a good first period. After that - it was all Nashville, despite the score.

Yeah, I saw it too. I'm becoming quite deadened to it.

I would 2nd that but it might be my last post if I did (Quiet they're listening)

Arnott should of put Stajan on his ass, like the Leafs were doing to him close in.

And Zanon should of caught that puck with his teeth..

We almost always have them, I can't remember the last time (before the Ottawa game of course) we didn't.

I almost created one for Montreal but saw that we won when we didn't for Ottawa and I didn't want to jinx it

I'm bucking tradition. This should be a lively, high-scoring affair, and it looks like I'm going to need a place to vent (Hamhuis already lost his man and goes -1).
So it's all your fault.

If I heard right during the OTR discussion that HT has mentioned---toward the end of the anti-Pred rant someone spoke of C Leopolds involvement with the M Wild and suggested a "conspiracy"---or perhaps things just weren't right in their opinion about this situation.

I searched the web about this subject and found nothing.Did anyone else hear this and know what the OTR "talking heads" perhaps were trying to suggest about CL concerning MN ???

I'm confused???

There have been numerous rumors that CL wants to buy [at least be the majority owner] in the Wild when he removes the burden to him that are known as the Predators.

I didn't know that the Wild were for sale----they have sold out every game going back to the North Stars era haven't they??

Just ridiculing their "conspiracy theories," talking of tinfoil hats and black helicopters. Laughing at the stupidity of anyone who would think that the NHL orchestrated some sort of covert deal to "keep the NHL out of Canada, where it belongs." Also rebuffed Watters' absolutist prediction that the wheels are already in motion for the Preds to move in three years.

It's not that you made one, it's that you made one while we were in the middle of a win streak.

AND that others had to go and start threads on TO's board bragging about our little win streak and the new 'no gdt' thing we had going on for a few games.
