I thought it would be kind of cool to see what NHLers people have played with at their local rink. Anything from old jr teams, to pick up hockey. Where at? And any cool stories to go with it?

If I stole the puck from Jim McKenzie I'd quickly offer my sincerest apology and give it back. Maybe give him $20 to forget the whole thing.
<(-:**
OK...more like - If I stole the puck from Jim McKenzie, it would be a minor miracle.

Some of the guys I play pick-up with at South Mountain (the Devils' former practice rink)in West Orange , NJ mentioned that Kryzysztof Oliwa played with them there once.

Well seeing that you are from Spokane...I have skated with Ty Jones and Cam Severson since I moved here in June.

I skated on Steve Heinze team before I moved and Deron Quint skated during the summer with a group of guys I played with.

Jason Bonsignore (yeah, I know), Marty Reasoner, and Brian Gionta when I lived back in Rochester.

When I lived in Mississippi I played with a lot of the ECHL Sea Wolves before their training camp opened up. That was fun...

i have played open hockey against Ron Duguay, as well as his wife, Kim Alexis. how many of you can stay you stopped a wrist shot from a supermodel ?

also, one of my old coaches, and someone who means the world to me in my hockey life is Jack LeClair. he played on the Canadiens in the days of Rocket, and he has his name on the Cup.

Jim Craig, Gilbert Perault, Mika Norenon, Mike Pecca while he was a hold out with the Sabres. A large bunch of others during sabres alumni games. Its amazing how age may take the wheels away but they never lose the shot.

Garth Butcher. Hardest shot I ever faced-

After he put one five hole on me, I asked if he had any advice, anything he saw that he shouldnt type of thing he said totally serious " Billy, this is just practice so you gotta pick the time to get that 5hole closed, but as long as you can get it shut during the game...you just have to know you can do it...but dont worry about that last one....it was a perfect shot"

Probably lost in my description, but it was hilarious as he winked after he said that.

Also played a lot with his son Matt.

Not an NHL player but I played with a borderline CHL player when I was 7 years old. He put up like 100+ points in like 40 games and I still remember him scoring with 1 second left in a tournament to tie it 8-8. Just goes to show how dominant you have to be to make it just to make it half way to the NHL.

I've skated with Bobby Hull, Johnny Bower, Darryl Sittler, and Kris King. Hockey schools for the win.
