Congrats to the Islanders

for earning their way into the playoffs. Giving quite a smackdown to the Hurricanes tonight. The all-important stat was the Islanders winning the games vs the Sabres this year.

Hopefully the Sabres organization will learn a lesson finally, one they haven't learned for three years now. You don't turn the light switch on in January and start playing hockey. You don't flub up the first half and decide that December is a good time for creating new losing streaks.

Maybe next year.....huh Darcy Regier? There's a lesson plan for you.....or as you like to call it.....an "education".

Congrats back to the Sabres and fans like SuperNinetendoChalmrs (Not sore losers like your colleague in this thread - the type of "fan" who likely was calling for the Sabres to throw in the towel a month ago. ) Your team made NYI earn a spot, bigtime.

The Sabres, especially their younger players, will benefit from this playoff race, despite falling just short. No quit in your coach or your team.

What I appreciated was the effort.....seems like a rarity for the Sabres franchise to put in the effort needed. Obviously, after last year's fiasco this was a nice improvement.

Hard to believe though, that a possible 89 points can't land a playoff spot. Gotta do away with this OT loss getting a point thingy.

Congratulations to Sabres, as well. They kept the Isles on their toes this past month. For having the youngest team in the league and do what they did late in the season, they deserve the highest marks. We all look forward to the Sabres joining us in the playoffs next season.

Go Isles!

Bah, I was hoping the Sabres would make it. Oh well, maybe next season.

Still, congrats to the Islanders. Is Yashin back yet? Don't get to see too many Fishstick games out here on the westcoast up in Canada.

If anything needs a change it is the amount of points for a regulation win. that should be changed to 3 pts

Overtime should be changed to a 10 min Sudden death period with 4-4 hockey

Would like to see ties eliminated altogether. Either 5 or 10 minute OT with a 4-4.....then a shootout like the Olympics.

No points for any loss. 2 points for a victory.

Congradulations goes out to The Islaners. Now I just hope they jump past the habs and the leafs lock up second. I would love to see the Leafs and Islanders again.

Finally NYI gets to play a fun opponent in Tampa Bay. Last year NYI vs. OTT, didn't really excite me as much. Was anyone else besides OTT, and NYI fans excited about that series?
