I am just happy!

and I have nothing to complain about. after 7 years from the sublime to the ridiculous I don't have anything bad to say about anyone, that includes Jagr, Malik, Gomez, Hossa, Shanny, Renney, Slats....I am happy!

the Rangers are in with a shout in every game. Now we can concetrate on one single most important issue - winning the cup!

I would like to see a better insurance policy for the goal.........
one PP anchor D men....I am thinking Kaberle, but would be happy with Aucoin or Souray if neither team makes the play offs.

Lets beat the Canes....they must have caught a cold last night.....

They have the second lowest goals for in the conference and third lowest in the league. I haven't seen the games though. Are they playing a very defensive style or is Lundqvist just a beast pulling out games by himself?

Count me as happy, and as Mr. Wanty (more goals, more points, more Goblets, etc.)!

No no, I'm quite happy too.
One could always wish for some more production from certain players, or perhaps a prospect callup or two, but overall I'm pretty pleased with developments so far into the season.
But this is a message board: It's always easier and more fun to complain than to compliment!

Pretty much both. It doesnt matter how much you score as long as its more than your opponent.

of course there could be always more wins, adn more cups....

but after so many years of shere misery....who remembers the futile years of Gretzky which were just dreadfully sad?

I remember TGO's farewell game we managed to lose to jagr's Pens.....Jagr going round in circles around the
clueless Rangers D. It was dire!

Actually I think this is when Jags realized that he needs to be in NYC to achieve stardom.

So this is a very happy Ranger time for me!

Yes count me as happy.

Team has gotten better every year since the lockout. More balanced, great balance of youth and vets. Seemingly better built for the playoffs than each previous year....

I am not sure if you are trying to "harsh our buzz" or simply asking a legitimate question, but to me the goals for stat, taken on its own, is meaningless. It is true that the Rangers haven't been putting the puck in the net as consistently as many people think they should be, but they HAVE been keeping the puck out of their own net much more efficiently than anyone could have imagined.

Even with the 2nd lowest GF in the conference, the Rangers have a goal differential of +11, good for 3rd best in the entire league. This is a much more telling stat in my opinion, as evidenced by the fact that it is the basis for most of the predictive mathematical models out there.

When all of this is taken into account, AND you consider the fact that the team is finally showing some "real" signs on gelling (9 goals in the last 2 games), you can understand why many Ranger fans are just, well, happy.

Count me among that group.

Amen brother! I see that Goal Differential number going up btw (especially with a happy Jagr)...

Nice try.

I'll always support the Swedes.

If there's swedes on both sides I'll support the Frölunda alumni.

(Sens - Rangers is a tie in my book, Alfie vs Hank )

If other things are equal, I'm a Red Wing

And if I have to pick one single player in NHL, it's actually Joel.

Messed up ey?

The offense is starting to click. We are seeing more and more offensive play on the same page- for instance, just putting the puck where you know your line mate will be.

Jagr is finally Jagr. The kids are playing great- especially Girardi and Staal. Henke is an easy argument for top goalie in the league. Drury and Gomez are doing enough.

The team is getting much help from varied sources- and here's to the continuance of that for the next 50+ games.

I would say as far as the Rangers only relatively happy. I like a lot of the young kids coming along--that have made it or are in Hartford, juniors etc. More or less as far as the Rangers I'm happiest after a win and not so much after a loss and I'm trying to keep perspective about it because it's one thing to win enough points to make the playoffs and another to win the Cup--and I'm still a little spoiled from '94--it seems like a long time ago now.

The cap has made the Rangers and I love it - the farm system is deep with talent and grit. I can't remember a time when there were so many legit prospects knocking on MSG's door.

Thanks for the response. I wasn't trying to kill the buzz. The Rangers will be a tough team to beat playing that way in the playoffs.

I'm happy too. The Rangers are my favorite team in all of sports and when I had to suffer through the 1997-2004 stretch..it was just a disaster. There was rarely any juice to games at MSG, it wasn't fun watching games..it was miserable.

Since the lockout, things have changed and while there are sometimes glimpses of the past, this team is for the most part back to where they were supposed to be all along. We may rip Sather and Renney a fair amount, but they deserve a ton of the credit in turning this organization around.

I now feel whenever I go to MSG that we SHOULD win the game. We have a home-ice advantage. And that's a damn good feeling to have.

The Rangers have stuck to the plan they announced moving forward in the spring of '04. They have pretty much done a 180 since then, injected solid, talented youth and Vets with leadership skills. There is plenty to be happy about with the Rangers.

Nice thread london, good for you.

Cheers!

I am now putting my name where my mouth is.
From now on and until further notice I shall be known as Happy London Ranger.
(Happy Gilmore was already taken).

Now I hope the loss vs Canes was just an glitch without further consequences so that I can keep my Monniker for a while.
