I don't know about top 4...but I agree that he is legit. I think outside of the logjam with our top 8 right now, Woywitka and Polak are the main reasons we talk about trades asap...guys that have already proved they can play at this level. Roman and Jeff BOTH need to be up here next year.

Hopefully Woywitka isn't trapped in the AHL like Jason LaBarbera was last year. Could easily see a team claiming him on re-entry waivers. If he's playing well enough, hopefully he earns a callup although that will mean risking losing an asset.

LaBarbera is a goaltender, so comparing him to Woywitka is completely irrelevant because there about way fewer goaltending slots on a team and the chances of a goaltender being "trapped" in the AHL are far higher than that of a d-man.
Judging from what I have read, Jeff could have done better than Brewer, Backman, Salvador, and Jackman in Colo last night. If Jax is hurt, could he or Polak possibly get the call? More than likely AM will just play Pilon, I mean Walker, and call up no one.

Wasn't Walker playing well the games he's been in this year?
One aspect of this disappointing D, missing O situation (hypothetical as always): Wouldn't Woywitka and Polak be able to play adequately on the blueline, enabling the Blues to move a couple of the more expensive, regular(ly maligned) D-men in exchange for offensive help?

I like your thinking. If we traded two defensemen we would have Woywitka, Polak and Walker rotating somewhat in the 5,6 spots. It would be pretty crazy to have four rookies on defense though.
