Burke probably thinks Andy Mac's success came from Selanne.

Good deal for St. Louis. McDonald is signed at a good price and will hopefully get his season going with the Blues. I think he'll fit into Murray's system nicely.

As a Canucks fan, it would have been nice if Nonis could have done his old buddy Burke a favour and sent Morrison his way for McDonald instead.

Your reading comprehension skills suck. The benefits Anaheim gets by making this deal have been thoroughly documented.

Either way, Weight is brutal at this point.
If Burke took any consolation in the fact that Niedermayer is coming back when he made (what I consider to be) a sub-par move, he's not doing his job.

Reminds me of when the Luongo trade went down, some Panthers fans around here were declaring that they had won the trade (or at least, not been fleeced as badly as some were saying) because the real deal was Luongo, etc. for Bertuzzi, Allen, Auld and Jovanovski, who they were sure was going to sign in the upcoming days. We all know how that turned out.

Burke has made two relatively major roster moves so far this season, and both of them have been extremely questionable.

If Selanne is indeed coming back, he just lost his best linemate. Mac and Teemu had great chemistry together, is this the best that Burke could do?

Nice job, ericnut.

Wasn't there a problem between Weight and Pronger in STL a few years ago? It was over Quennville I believe. Anyone know?

I was thinking about this myself. Maybe it was even in the works until Morrison got hurt? Morrison has put up better numbers then Weight this year.

I think in terms of play value the winner is St.Louis. Overall, both teams won, because of the future cap considerations in Anaheim.

Four questionable roster moves:

1) Signing Bertuzzi
2) Signing Schneider
3) Putting Bryz on Waivers
4) This trade.

::edit::

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Burke's legacy with the ducks is how he maintains the team after winning the cup.

Wow, awesome deal for the Blues. Weight has been a great trade asset for them.

And big surprise, Burke is taking down another team.

Well, I meant post-offseason, but Bertuzzi is definitely in there otherwise. Signing Schneider wasn't as bad as the others.

This would've been funny if ericnut would have posted this trade simply as a hypothetical proposal, and was looking for HF's opinion. He would've been eaten alive.
