We will see. If by game 10 the guy stops hitting, shooting, driving to the net........well I will just shake my head and try to ignore it (kind of like other teams ignore our PP).

Hopefully Pihlstrom takes advantage of this. He had a good preseason and camp.

I've wondered all year what Jerred Smithson brings that Pihlstrom doesn't. He should have made the team to begin with.

Awesome. I thought at one point they might trade Tootoo and keep him near the end of training camp. We need some energy, or, at a minimum, another body to throw at it for a while.

Good move. I really like philstrom. Although, like the rest of you I fear trotz won't use him effectively or will outright ruin him.

I hate to open an old can of worms and know I'm in the minority but remind me again who Trotz ruined? Are they gone like Scott Hartnell, Krivokrasov, Arkhipov or Peltonen?

Are they still here like David Legwand? Martin Erat? Has he already ruined Radulov?

I'll give you Andrew Brunette. I might give you Scottie Upshall but only after he plays 60+ games in a season. I will NOT give you Joseph Vasichek. Maybe Andy Delmore...

I tend to agree with you here, has anyone left our system and really flourished anywhere else?

Not that I can think of...but I sure can think of alot of guys that were buried on other teams, and flourished here. even if they did for a short time.

The only guys that you look back at and wish we had kept were only let go because Poile didn't want to pay them what they were getting on the open market.

Not what Poile wanted to pay or not what Leipold wanted to pay? I'd love to have Vokoun back.

As things stand now, that's the one that really hurts. He has rebounded this year (I thought there was risk that he wouldn't) and Mason has been painfully inconsistent and rarely great (I thought there was a good chance he would hold down the fort just fine-- not so far).

Okay semantics boy...what Poile could pay them because of what Leipold was willing to pay them...and no matter how much I hoped Mason could carry us I knew giving up Koun would be a major downfall.

Philstrom IMMEDIATELY takes over the undisputed champion of "Best Hocky Hair" on the team. Surely champ of the central in fact. Maybe in the Western conference. Perhaps the entire league?

Pihlstrom had a pretty bad game. He threw a few hits, but that was it. Other then that, he looked lost out there.

I think Trotz does ok in teaching young guys an all-around game. So I don't think he ruins prospects.

But can we point to any home-grown offensive talents? I can't think of any. Although they've spent many drafts getting d-men and (d###it) goalies.

So I am wondering if he can develop offense.
