He could have been a UFA what, last season or after this season? He chose an extension in Tampa Bay. I'm not getting my hopes up.

Hey, if I get him 34 000 000$ I expect a heck of a lot more than his "presence".

If Lecavalier gets resigned by Tampa, who's the next potential Hab?

I'd rather have him sign with us than trade for him. But as much as I would like to see it happen i don't think it will. But if it does I'm getting his jersey for sure!

Where you see a difficulty, I see a challenge. Think not of his prior actions, think of what YOU can do to get Vinny in a Habs jersey (on the ice, playing for the Habs, in a great many NHL game, under a good and valid contract).

That sort of thinking is exactly why Vincent Lecavalier is NOT playing for the Sens.

There's no room on the Sens cap.

I'm thinking the conditional donation thing is just crazy enough that it might just work.

Everybody, send me as much money as you can. I will get you Vinny Lecavalier. Promise.

NEVER!!!

Why would Vinny leave sunny Tampa where he is a god and where he doesn't have to listen to the french media when he doesn't score 15 goals a game?? He doesn't have one ounce of pressure on him in Tampa so he's not gonna leave. Tampa will obviously re-sign him, so everybody may as well come to the reality that he will never play in Montreal.
If he ever does play for the Habs, he will be too old and washed up to be worth signing.

Are you guys saying that you prefer to miss the playoffs with a team filled with euros than o make the playoffs, and be a contender, with a team filled with north american players?

So far, we've come up with:

1) millions of dollars from the fans;
2) poems;
3) my sister.

We need your help. Can you come up with anything else?

Funny thing is there is no passion in Tampa. I was in Tampa exactly 4 days after they won the Cup and there wasn't a sign or picture, it's almost like it never happened. Why would anyone want to play in a place that doesn't give a chit about hockey? If you love hockey you want the people cheering and behind you not a bunch of crickets in the stands.

This is such a sophistry; you completely omitted the fact that without Vinny, TB wouldn't make the playoffs and with Vinny, the Habs would do the playoffs.

I would love to see him come play in Montreal as much as the next fella, but its not ever gonna happen. I doubt Vinny's face is plastered all over the newspapers the day after an off game like happens here in Montreal.

Some players just like to play hockey and not have a big fuss over them or the team. Maybe Vinny's like the night life in Tampa or going to the beach on his off days....who knows.

If I was an NHL hockey player though, the first place I would want to play is Montreal because of the history and the passionate fans....but those same fans can turn into your worst enemy too.

TAMPA - It's almost impossible for fathers such as Michael Kisielewski of Sarasota and Peter Mayhew of Brandon to put it into words.

Not that they need to - their eyes reflect the weight of being a parent of a child with cancer, whether in remission or still in the grip of chemotherapy.

On Tuesday, their eyes lit up.

Tampa Bay Lightning center Vincent Lecavalier and his corporate partners in philanthropy committed $3 million toward the construction of a new All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg. The $300 million medical center will replace the existing, 40-year-old facility and is scheduled for completion in 2009.

The $3 million from Lecavalier's VL4 Foundation is earmarked for a 26,500-square-foot, 28-room wing that will bear Lecavalier's name: the Vincent Lecavalier Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Center.
He's not only their best player but also the face of the franchise. The Bolts saw what happened with the Panthers when they traded Luongo and they wont make the same mistake.
