The perfect ending

Okay, okay. There's more than enough pessimism in here (and I contributed more than my share of it) so let's dream a little.

How would you like to see the game/series winning goal scored?

I'll start it off (thanks to Chara and SensGod - hope you don't mind my "editing").

From Chara:The silence is deafening when Alfie scores in double OT at the ACC
From SensGod: ...after taking Tucker out with a legal check...

P.S. You can continue the play above, or make up your own ending.

I REALLY want the Sens to win...but I'm not hopefull...

as for the ending...

"The Senators finished their Stanley Cup Parade down Yonge Street yesterday..."

that is the headline I want in the news

I'm doing this from a Sens POV for fun

"...Hossa, flying down the RW...15:40 left in the third period here in Game 6 at the Corel Centre, game tied at 3. Past the blueline, winds up...Leetch right there, there's some daylight...Hossa slips it over to Redden, wide open..Redden...scccorrres on the backhand"

I say Redden because he's the only Sen I like

Now, the *real* perfect ending

"...3:15 into the third overtime period here in Game 7. Sundin sets up for the faceoff to the right of Lalime. He wins it back to McCabe, McCabe across to Leetch. Leetch back to McCabe, McCabe cross-ice pass to Mogilny, one-timer from the left circle, Mogilny shoots, he SCORES"

I'll leave now

The Sens, down 3-0 in the series cans Martin and Muckler steps behind the bench.

Game 4, Alfredsson pulls a move at the blueline similar to that of Messier's against the Islanders in 84. Sens up 2-1 and "Senators hockey is here to stay".

The next 3 games are won in dominant fashion by the Sens, destroying all team unity, chemistry and leadership in the Leafs for the next 37 years.

...Then I woke up and my bed was wet.

As painful as it would be, I would love to see the Sens go 0-3 just to win the next four games (all in OT).

I live in Toronto, and all day I have heard how the Leafs are going to sweep the Sens. Only two people said that it would be Leafs in 5 (wow, they think we will win a game).

I would love to beat the Leafs in their house, in game 7. Maybe then we could get a little respect.

I think the Leaf fans who believe this is gong to be an easy series are going to get a real education.

It doesn't matter how we beat them...I'd just like to see us beat them in the ACC. It would drive the fans nuts and there'd be a huge uproar.

Perfect ending? OT in Game 7 is far from perfect...3-0 score in Game 4 to complete the sweep. 40 Leaf fans jump from their seats in the rafters onto the ice in a cult fashioned suicide attempt when they conclude that this finally was "the year" and it ends in disgrace. Harry Neale cries, "Oh, the humanity", moments before his head explodes, forcing Bob Cole to retire from the psychological damage.

After the playoffs, Pat Quinn gets fired, which then throws the team in complete disarray after they realize emotion was their only saving grace. Leafs don't make the playoffs again until 2012 as Ottawa goes on to win the Cup 4 more times...

Seriously though, any ending with the Sens coming out on top and then going on to win the Cup would be just perfect. Just beating the Leafs is NOT enough though...

En Contraire. I think the ones already educated believe it's going to be a tough series.

Series

I have a feeling that if the Sens win the series, Spezza will be the difference. (Thatís if JM plays him)

Agreed absolutely! Beating the Leafs will be great, but not making a cup final appearance at least would be dissapointing. Can't lose sight of the REAL goal.

Perfect ending...Roberts scores the series winner in the first minute of game four!
Now, I'm guessing you're going to attack me all at once...please, one at a time.

Are you kidding? We'd all love to see Roberts pull a Steve Smith and score on his own net and in doing so eliminate the Leafs. Good call! I don't think anyone ever thought of this scenario, but this would be beee-youuuu-tiful. And since it would be in Ottawa the roof might blow right off the building. I'd love to hear the quiver in Bob Coles voice right then.

Only because he's the only one (besides Bondra maybe) who knows that you go upstairs on a goalie when you're in close.

Nice one...you got me there, that would be funny...good thing Jackman's gone - with him around it might have happened.

I'd like to see Lalime score the game-winner after letting in the tying goal with 2 minutes to go. He'd get all wound up over letting the team down and just take the puck end-to-end, deking McCabe's pants off and putting it top shelf glove side. Of course, there would be the mandatory banana dance in celebration. Imagine Lalime doing the banana dance....
