Blues on Top of HF Organization Ratings!!

Nice to see. I knew that we would be in the top 3, but I wasn't sure that we would be #1. Sweet!

I remember when we were 29th. Just shows how much the organization has been overhauled.

I'd trade our #1 prospect ranking for a Cup.

And that's really what it boils down to. Every team would.

We're.....number 1???

but...but...but...HockeysFuture is biased against everything Blues...

congrats to Jarmo, JD, Pleau and the rest of the organization...but this means very little if we can't turn this into a sustained championship contender. I'd rather be 1st than any other ranking, but let's not lose focus of what's really important - The goal is not to have the nicest prospect pool (despite what many on this board may lead you to believe).

What exactly do you think leads to a "sustained championship contender"?

Oh wait, that's right.....a deep prospect pool.

I think one more year of trading at the deadline and aquiring decent picks will do us very well for the future.

I didn't say it was a lock that there would be success...I just meant that in almost all cases teams that are successful for a long stretch of time tend to build a significant portion of their teams through either the development of prospects OR the trading of those chips for developed players.

The "sign everything in the world at free agency" Yankee model doesn't work outside of baseball....and it doesn't work that well even there.

Agreed. I would trade any vets possible at the deadline for more high picks.
