NHL Rule changes

Rule Changes...

1. Nets to be converted into soccer size nets.
2. Instigator Rule abolished
3. Olympic size rinks
4. Maximum 8 inch goalie pads
5. games played 4 on 4.
6. No Red Line
7. Goalie can come out and play on the opposing zone
8. Goalies are fair game for body checks.

If this doesn't increase the amount of goals in the NHL, then you come up with better ideas

Their is nothing wrong with the game of hockey. They would be crazy to make any major rule changes. They should go back the way it was before; no instagator, Move the goal line back to where it originaly was. The problem with the game is not the rules. The problem is that the NHL is watered down due to expansion. The talent pool is not strong enough for 30 teams.

just revert to the pre-Bettman ways...and i mean on the ice. The management now is much better than back then...but the game has been hurt.

How about fining/discliplining/firing refs for not calling the rules that the NHL already has? Or would that be to radical?

Why not just get rid of the game and just go to a shootout?

 WAH WAH WAH! There is nothing wrong with the talent level. Lets get rid of the high dollar teams so that the league at least makes some money.

60 minutes of shootouts, I'd pay to see that, it would be very entertaining end to end hockey :lol

Rule #4 isn't bad either, it would increase scoring for sure, and the goalies would have to start being athelic and flop around all over the place to spot pucks, way more entertaining than "positionally sound" goaltenders.

There is nothing wrong with the game of hockey. But there are major problems with the NHL.

The talent pool is large enough for 30 teams. Lack of talent is not what causes clutching and grabbing. Not calling penalties is the problem there. I still feel the NHL will have a real permenant crack down some day.

The instagator is fine. I havent seen anyone come up with a good reason to get rid of the rule. If two guys want to fight they can. I dont see how allowing someone to throw their gloves off and start swinging away without and additional penalty is good for the game.

I agree with the first 2 paragraphs. The goalie equipment needs to go back to the size in the 80's and early 90's. I aheva different take on the instigator rule, but we'll save that for another time

Also, move the nets back
