I would say that all games are important. Maybe not pre-season
Sure real clutch players are set apart in the playoff but in the season, guys are needed to step up. I will respect your wishes to tell me later.

Second that. Although in the past Kovalev is as clutch as we've got since Zednik

kovy and pleks are both very clutch...not zednik clutch but they seem to be cool when we need them to be, not spazzy like Ryder and Higgins. (Can't see how you can call Higgins clutch. He's had too many game tying and winning chances that he's flubbed.)

What I've seen, in the last few games, is that every player in the team, or close, is clutch in their department.

Seems like everybody is doing well, even the 3rd pair / 4th line.

Is the word CLUTCH is only linked to the offensive game ? ( i am french so i don't know the answer ) Can't we say that Komisarek is also a clutch player ?

In fact he scored both goals that game

I'd still take him at the deadline for the playoffs if the team had a few injuries *knock on wood*

Clutch would be any player who plays a huge game when it matters most...could be a goalie for the great saves, a defenceman for his amazing hits, blocked shots...so no, it doesn't have to be offensive.

I think I know where you are going with this....yes a big hit can be clutch . Players are clutch in my mind when a players shines night after night and get even more noticeable in crunch time. Playoff are by far the most hardest place to shine and for that reason it's more recognized and rightfully so. But it's 40 games into the season and I was looking to If or when we make the playoffs, witch player will showcase their desrir to win by coming up with clutch plays such as a goal, a setup, a hit or even shutdown the other team's top unit.

This year aside, Michael Ryder (remember the in vain hat trick against Toronto last year?) has actually been rather clutch. Aside from this week though, he's pretty much pissed away that honorific.

Well, we all know Kovy is a player born for Playoff games, and with the season he's having so far, I think we can expect an exciting performance from him in this year's post-season if the team makes it there.

Well, we all hope so anyway.

Plekanec has 3 games winning goals which is the most on the team. I give it to Tomas..

It's been so long that I did forget....my bad.
All I remember about Zednick was the one hand on is stick and not cuting in the center zone. I don't think that he was key to our sucess that playoff year but rather at the right place at the right time kine of senerio. I should go and watch those game again to make a true opgnion but for some reason or an other I dought that he was great. Good sure but clutch....

having 3 game winning goals doesnt make you clutch.
Dont get me wrong, Pleks is definatly one of our clutch players, but I dont have him as a clutch player because he leads the team in gwg.

best example I have to give you, The team I coach, we have the leading point getter in the province at the Midget Espoir level. he has 22 goals 23 assists for 45 points in 23 games but ZERO of his goals are game winners, yet, he has been VERY clutch for us.

Good for that kid...
I look at it the same way. If he can change the out come of a game no matter what night it is, then your kid is defenitly clutch.
