TSN's rumored trade talks

Quote:
- The New York Post noted that the Rangers may be interested in picking up a Blue Jackets defenceman; either Adam Foote or Rostislav Klesla. Foote does have a no-trade clause and is in the final year of his deal with Columbus, but the Columbus Dispatch reports that the Blue Jackets are also likely to start talks with Foote on an extension to keep him in Ohio. The Dispatch does throw some different names into the mix, mentioning Rangers LW Petr Prucha coming to Columbus for veteran Czech RW David Vyborny.

- According to the Montreal Gazette, the Rangers have inquired about Canadiens RW Michael Ryder, who has not been performing well in his contract year.

I would definitely pull the trigger on a move for Klesla.

I would prefer to get BOTH Klesla and Foote if we can move out Mara and Malik to the Jackets along with some decent young players/picks.

That would sure up our defense.

Hell yea it would. I'm not sure why they'd be so quick to give up on Klesla though. I haven't seen much of him this year, but I remember him being talked about pretty highly, and from his stats he's looking to have a fine year.

Malik and Mara should both be on their way, along with Prucha or something for Klesla and Foote. That would be a sure fit for us. I'd feel a lot more confident in our team.

Just pull the trigger already, hate rumors...

I'd love to know what Klesla would cost. CBJ would want more than just Prucha and I can't see why they'd want Malik or Mara instead of just keeping Klesla

CBJ may be one of the few sellers at the deadline this year, so they may be very willing to part withe Foote + Klesla. Whatever we think of Malik, he can be a steady presence on the blueline, and someone a young team could lean on for experience. Mara has a cannon, but hisd skills are replaceable. Both of these dmen are on different levels scapegoats and focal points for our overall woes, but packaged with the right youth, will be valuable trade bait.

trading Prucha for a older player= dumb. I'd rather suffer this year then be left with **** when all the veteran guys r retired. Sure stuff up for the future.

You don't trade a young Czech, for an old Czech
