Avery has a target on his chest. Not only because of the way he plays but now that he's in NY, the amount of press he gets. He's got a huge target on his chest and you know he's going to be getting hurt a lot.

Two bad wrists
I think he meant that the original wrist surgery should have been taken care of when he was out with the shoulder thing, as apparently that wrist was already bothering him then, but he thought he could just play through it. Obviously there was no way to avoid this new wrist injury, aside from the ******* Oiler not slashing him.

I meant the surgery he had a month or so ago. That injury was from last season and he should have gotten it taken care of when he had the shoulder injury. Instead he had to waste two months of his season for it

Exactly... but what can you do in that kind of situation... tell him to calm down and make him for all intensive purposes a player not nearly worth that kind of money, or just roll with it and hope he doesn't get hurt...

Or you can look for someone else but the Rangers just can't seem to win when he's not in the lineup.

It's actually Pierre-Alexandre, but he goes by P.A.

I kinda wanted to see Anisimov come up, especially with the talk of moving Drury on the wing... but I didn't think it would happen.

On the bright side, at least hopefully we'll get a look at a Drury - Gomez - Jagr line, if Moore skates that is. I've been wondering about this line since July 1st, might actually get to see it now.

You don't have to worry because Avery getting $3m from the Rangers is NEVER going to happen!

I want to see him get a chance as well I think he'd be solid probably not to flashy but no glaring mistakes.

I don't worry too much. It makes it special when he returns, he's like a shot of energy that comes and goes when needed. With his style of play it's to be expected, just hope that he's in the lineup more often than not.

I hope. Anything over $2.5 i think would be nuts. He doesn't put up the #'s. He isn't a second liner, but a good third liner and I wouldn't pay a third liner that much money.

drury - gomez - jagr
dawes - dubi - prucha
hossa - moore - paraneau

i just don't understand not leaving dawes - moore and PA together as that was the top line in hartford....

That would make more sense... i forgot about Hossa when thinking what these possible lines could be... i'm really frustrated now but sorta excited to see what dawes moore and paranteau can do (if they play together)

I'm also excited to see how Parenteau does. While his defensive play seems to be what kept him from getting the chance in the past, this year, playing with two rookies (Anisimov and Dupont) for most of the season, he's really had to be more responsible on the ice. He's taken over the scoring lead in Hartford from Moore and has been a real clutch player, coming through seemingly whenever Hartford gets themselves in a jam. He really deserves the opportunity.

Does anyone seriously think Parenteau will be getting significant icetime tonight?

thats why i want them to play together. a lot of familiarity.

and this should tell people something that PA was recalled and not Callahan.

Agreed he isn't a second line talent, but to say he isn't a second line player is wrong...

He always plays on our second line.

I knew they played together but completely forgot about Hossa. I figured Pruchs and Dubi would be on the 2nd but couldn't think of the last forward. Thanks for reminding me of Hossa (kind of depresses me even more).

That is a huge message of not recalling Callahan. But do you think that Renney called up PA instead of him b/c those three have played together and have chemistry. Renney knows that this team has had no chemistry at all throughout the year so he might want to just use an entire line that had some success. Just a thought.

That's b/c Renney loves to misuse players on this team.
