Solid pair of skates.

Hey guys -

I haven't played in a long time but just recently my friends and I have started playing some pick-up games at a nearby rink. I hadn't skated in about six years but I found some old CCM Bronco's in my basement. I think they might've been my Dad's at one point but who knows?

Anyway, I'm looking for a solid pair of skates that aren't too expensive. I have a wider foot. Any recommendations?

My friend Matt says great things about his Riedell Gold Medallion 300's.

Best skates i have ever used. great on my feet as well and the blades dont ever seem to get dull as much as my vapor XV when i had them.

go to a local hockey shop and try on a bunch of different types. Everyone's feet are different and it's all about what fits you best.

Seriously, go to a hockey shop and try on a few pairs. The employees will be able to look at the shape of your foot and make recommendations.

I have RBK 3Ks, had no problems with wear in or anything. They aren't too costly, but they still cost a bit ($120 or so).

My buddy who only plays once a week just picked up a pair of Bauer Supreme 30. He seems to like them and they are a huge upgrade from his old skates. They shouldn't be too expensive either.
