CBC Coverage

Really pleased to be getting so many CBC feeds, (esp for the Battle of Ontario) over here. I love all the pregame shots from outside the locker rooms. No annoying chit-chat. Just the game. I don't know about anyone else, but It like I can feel the tension seeping through from the TV.

All games should be shown like this!

I am enjoying the CBC coverage as well. I have to tell you though, Don Cherry is still a jack@##.

CBC always has, and always will have, the best hockey coverage. ESPN tries to lure you in with all kinds of bells and whistles. But when it comes down to it, all that matters is the game. CBC is great.

It would be even better if they weren't such mindless cheerleaders for everything Leaf.

I wondered how long it would take.

So you're saying Cole, Neale, Cherry, Healey and MacLean aren't obviously Leaf fans?

When did I say that?

There are Senator, Islander and Red Wing fans all saying positive things about CBC coverage in this thread. I can't imagine them saying these things if it was all "mindless cheerleading" towards the Leafs, like you, a hab fan, make it sound.

I simply stated if they weren't so obviously biased, their product would be better than it already is. I can't stand cheerleading, be it for the Habs, Leafs, Sens or whoever.

I agree about the Sens/Leafs series being covered well, same as the Nucks/Flames series. But the unforunate thing is that they run out of good play by play guys after that. Habs games are stuck with a sleepy guy

I've always wondered why the CBC never hired Paul Romaniuk. The guy was a great commentator for TSN and alot better than Sleepy

I'm not 100% sure but I think he works with Leaf TV now. I have seen him on the Score roundtable and I thinks that what it said.

But ya I always like listening to him during the international tournys and NHL. He did do the Spengler Cup last year.

I like CBC.. but Greg Millen just ruins it for me. I can't stand listening to his moronic drone.

CBC coverage overall is good, but I sure wanted to give them a call last night and tell them to stop doping the camera technicians with valium.

Was it just me or were the camera men/women wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy behind the plays? It seemed like every pass, shot etc. the camera couldn't follow the puck. It got really annoying in the second period. It was so bad at times even the slo-mo replays didn't have a single angle on a play.

Millen is an idiot.

Cole and Neale act like they are Leafs broadcasters, not national ones. Other than that its great except for the odd camera missing the play, yeh.
