I would of thought they would have more than 8 wins. But u are right they should be a playoff team. Do they even have their draft pick for this year or did they trade it away again?

First of all, there is ZERO comparison between Isiah Thomas and Tom Renney.

Isiah Thomas is the GM of the Knicks. NOT JUST THE COACH.

Tom Renney is ONLY the coach of the New York Rangers.

Tom Renney can only work with the players given to him.

Isiah Thomas not only decides what players he gets, but he also coaches them the wrong way.

ZERO GROUNDS FOR COMPARISON.

Rangers have NOTHING to do with the Knicks, other then playing in the same arena and having the same schmuck owner.

If there is a merciful god, he will make this rumor a reality. Cause short of divine, the knicks are going to do anything worth while with "Zeke" at the helm.

ESPN is referring to a story in today's Daily News written by Frank Isola which reports Dolan is fed up with IT and may pull the plug on him before the end of this season.Thomas is also the Knicks President of Basketball Operations. The Knicks are 9-26.The franchise is a joke. The sexual harassment suit. All of the money that has been spent by Zeke. The Stephon Marbury debacle.

Renney is Glen Sather's guy.Sather and Dolan are best friends.Dolan isn't telling Glen to fire Renney.Sather has carte blanche over the Rangers operation
Bobby Clarke and Ed Snider are "best friends" too. Just saying...

A cup full of some whiskey after the rollercoaster we have been through this season maybe.

While much of the fans' ire about the underachieving Rangers understandably focuses on the head coach, it should be noted that Renney is under contract through next season as part of an extension he signed following the 2005-06 season.

Throw that into a mix that includes an ultra-patient owner and a two-year record that includes transforming a laughingstock into a playoff team and then orchestrating a second-half drive to within 7.7 seconds of a 3-2 lead in the Eastern Conference semis and it makes little sense to believe Renney's seat is getting warm
.

Not to mention the full support of the President/GM of the team

Come on, the idea of Renney getting fired is ridiculous. He's got two of the toughest jobs in hockey; managing Avery's antics and managing Jagr's ego, and let's face it, for the most part he's done a damn good job.

It's going to take a Leafs-esque free-fall for anything to transpire. That may not even be a enough.
