Well, that would be a start (assuming it means on-ice workouts, because he's been working out off-ice for months)...

Maybe they did mean off-ice. It just sounded like it was some big new hurdle that he crossed (which I guess any working out would be after back surgery).

Meh

While its better then the news we have been getting, we'll still be lucky if he ever plays again. And even luckier if he is half the player he was.

Perhaps we could strap sully to Hordy's back and have Hordy skate down and park himself just outside of the crease (to the goalie's right of course). Sully then can shoot without needing any core muscles.

I have visions of Voldemort's face on the Professor's head in the first Harry Potter.

Sadly. most of us regulars have no confidence Steve will don the Preds sweater on the ice ever again.

...or anyone else's sweater. I just doubt he'll ever play again.

No way for this year. I think he will play 10-12 games next year, injure something and hang it up.

he was on the broadcast between periods...he was pretty good...explained a couple of plays with insight

bad part is that it looked like he was beginning to develop a career in broadcasting for when he couldn't play anymore.

They finally concluded sullivan will NOT be back for the rest of the season. But Sully has every intention of being ready to go for next year's training camp.

Good, maybe this will convince Poile to make a trade.

I really hope we don't waste money and try to resign Sullivan unless its just a killer (for us) deal..

Well, this confirms what we already expected. If Sullivan comes back and has a semi-decent year, he will be inline for his final contract. I hope this isn't the end of the line for the guy, but he really needs to be careful in his rehab and do EVERYTHING the doctor and PT prescribes.

I hope he's fully able to come back. On the news he looked angry and really determined to be ready next season to prove to everyone (and probably himself) that he can still play.

Sucks for this year but we all expected it. It's already mid January and he's not even really skating much, so there didn't seem to be a chance for this season. It might be a sense of relief for the rest of the team to not have to answer any more questions and they can just go out and play and not be thinking 'when/if Sully comes back...'.
