Worst GDT '08: Buffalo Sabres @ New York Rangers, 1/16/08, 7PM ET (22:00 Duddy time)

@

Goalies

Buffalo:

New York:

(yes, that's Henrik, not a young Gov. Schwarzenneger)

Who to watch for on the opponent since we have nobody of significance
Obviously Chris Drury

NYR assistant coach Perry Pearn, AKA the "most interviewed man ever"

I guarantee he gets interviewed. By someone. At some point during the game or intermission.

Hugh Jessiman:

What else to watch for

Brandon Jacobs:

(He was at the Knick game Tuesday holding his baby up like the Lion King...expect it again tomorrow night because I said so)

Chad the Alltel guy:

On the CL (Connolly list) and not playing for us:

Connolly
Roy
Spacek?
Afinogenov

Noteworthy jBud facts (about me):

- I will be in attendance. I am 0-0-1 this year, and about to go 0-1-1

- The last game I went to at the Garden was Drury's OT win last year, tipping in a shot from the point

- I will likely be hammered

- I will likely walk out depressed

- I'd say my favorite television show is Sportscenter, with The Wire a close 2nd.

- I GOTTA have my pops

- to my knowledge, I only do roadgame GDT's and never home games

- virgo

EDIT: I just found this....

Also noteworthy is the World's Safest Giveaway Contest:

http://www.wgr550.com/contests/shutout.php

Quote:
WGR SportsRadio 550 and Home Theatre Solutions want you to win whenever Buffalo shuts out the hockey world this season! If Buffalo shuts out their opponent, we'll randomly pick one listener who correctly picked the Buffalo goaltender and opposing team. The grand prize winner for each shutout will win a 32" LCD Intergrated HDTV Model Number 32LC7 from Home Theater Solutions of WNY
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAH!`

They definitely don't have any TV's to give away in the first place. Sabres? SHUTOUT? HA!

The way these two teams have been playing, I'm gonna say they both lose.

How?

Dunno... NY wins, but Lundqvist pulls a groin and is out for 2 months.
Or Buffalo does, and Miller does the same.

Connolly List - bloody ingenious! I love it!

How about Thomas "Dude You're Getting a Dell" Vanek? Not that he's worthy of a list or anything, but I've been dying to get this similarity off my chest for years now!

I Love the Sabres
I Love to watch every game
I Hope we Win
If we don't, i will pummel deeper into depression
I think Vanek is going to score
I think the Sabres need to trade Campbell
I think Larry Quinn should be fired
I think Razor should suit up for a game
I think RJ is depressed too

I Believe that the Sabres will Make the Playoffs

I have no idea...I've been meaning to put the work to photoshop for a while now, but if someone beats me to the punch at this point, more power to 'em...I'm too lazy

It's a flawless campaign. We just need a catchphrase to intertwine the two

Yeah, I'm only coming up with certain circumstances...one of the ideas I got in mind is his approach to every single shootout he's in.

I've taken the matter to a more appropriate place. This thread is for FOCUSING HARD ON THE TARGET AT HAND: THE NEW YORK RANGERS

Love the GDT, this needs to be sticky'd ASAP.

The NHL brings back ties and the game ends in a 2-2 tie.

3-0 Buffalo. Miller with the shutout, Vanek with the hat trick.

What a great GDT, jBud I will be attending this game as well.

And if Brandon Jacobs is there (or any other Giants), that will probably be the loudest cheer of the night. Except for the many Sabres fans cheering once you guys win.

Personally, I think the whole Giants team should go to the game.

And stay as long as they want. There's no game of significance for them on Sunday....it's NEXT week!!!

3-2 Rangers. 2-2 Tie with 5 mins left in the 3rd, when Drury score for the Rangers sealing our fate

That's one hell of a GDT, jBud.

Rangers, 3-2 in the shootout or something equally heartbreaking. That or 3-2 Rangers in the closing seconds of the third, rendering us pointless.

Just realized I won't even be able to watch this one, my first class is tonight... dammit.

It'd be great to see Vanek step up and make us feel better for having him to that huge contract instead of Drury.

Meh, 4-2 Sabres.

This would require both teams to actually score. I say 0-0 shootout goes all the way down till Miller and Lundquist are shooting, NHL calls and says screw it, 0-0 tie.

2-1 Sabres. Yup. We win.
Drury pities us; therefore, Drury with the hat trick.

Great GDT, btw.
