Initially I thought that Varada went for the knee, but after seeing the replay a couple times I don't think he did intentionally do it.

Anyway, there'd better not be a Sens fan out there complaining about the refs. As in game 1 there were some questionable calls and non calls, but Ottawa had their chances as much as the Leafs. Each team had a 5 on 3, each had some odd calls made against, and each team had lot's of PP opportunities. Toronto buried theirs tonight as Ottawa did in game 1.

Belfour was excellent tonight and Lalime played very well too. As a Sens fan, this was a game that I would say that they were good, they just didn't get that bounce. I had a huge sigh of relief when Phillips returned.

It's shaping up to be the best series these 2 teams have played against each other.

Varada must have invented a new way to knee people. Putting your legs TOGETHER is not a good way to knee someone, no?

Varada has never worn a visor as a sen.

Exactly, his knees were tight together like he was downhill skiing. Never underestimate the power of some leaf fans to over-react.

It's amazing how some Sens fans can go blind, isn't it? I say knee on knee, they say it was knee on knee and yet somehow I'm wrong about it being knee on knee? I said nothing about Varada sticking out his leg; try reading my post.

Varada simply did what Domi has been doing so far. He picks up a lot of speed with 5 or 6 strides anticipates, where the guy with the puck will end up, and smacks into him after having stopped taking strides maybe two to five feet before impact.

I think the hit on Hossa was probably the highlight of the game. Clean, and hurt him. I also believe he was laughing...what a fool.

Anyways, i think Toronto knows if they play like this, they will advance. smart moves to play the sky line as the starters.
GO LEAFS

Hehe yeah, we can use that for all the Leaf fans whining about Varada's hit. Good idea.

Perhaps Matts, Tie and Pat should all sit down and discuss whether is was a dirty hit or not, as Mats said already it was the same hit as Domi's on Hossa. The only difference was Sundin made a better evasive move.

Given the Leafs can't even agree on the hit, we'll defer to the guy who actually took the hit (Sundin). Suck it up and move on.

Where did Mats say that? I heard/seen him say "that's playoff hockey" but I've never seen him say "It's the same hit Domi gave Hossa."

I read that this morning also, I think it is in the Globe and Mail, I'm not sure though.
