What happened to the boards?

Anyway, a good effort tonight. Good atmosphere at the arena and the Dubinsky/Prucha/Dawes line was excellent. Lundqvist played a good game although he wasn't tested very much....Buffalo has a ton of problems, so we needed to win this game. Hopefully we can continue the 1-game win streak in Boston since I'll be there for that game.

What's the deal with Dubinsky getting only 6.25 of TOI?

Lundqvist seems to be back on track...

Decent game by the boys, good to come out with two points and seeing that third line continue their success.

But hey, what's that? 7 god damn minutes for the guys that scored both goals. 12 for holly betts orr. I don't care if you give the fourth 12 minutes Renney but give the third AT LEAST 12 at the very least.

This is getting ridiculous, friggin' coach is clueless.

Need to stop taking penalties though...

I thought Prucha was one of our best forwards tonight.

I was just coming on to say the same thing. That 3rd line gets absolutely no ice time.
Whats crazy is that they play so well that it seems like they are on the ice for much longer than the 6-7-8 minutes that they are actually there for.

There is no reason why they couldnt at least share the same amount of ice time as the 4th line.
I dont care if it means a extra loss or 2. That 3rd line is the future and it needs to be developed.

I couldn't agree more. Hopefully Renny will come around soon...

You ask that with Tom Renney as your coach!?

Good win boys, back to 8th in the playoff run, let's keep this going. These upcoming back to back games with Boston and Atlanta are KEY since we are at around the same points.

Also as much as I dislike the Isles, good win against the Devils, looks like the Devils aren't going to win any of the Metro games this year.

It was basically us against Miller last night. Buffalo was just terrible

Whatever, a win is a win. Gives the guys something to finally feel good about

Also, Dubinsky's ice time =

Our third line has finally got going and Renney picks now as the time to be stingy?

Both of Orr and Hollweg should not be getting more than 8 minutes in a game. I felt like we could have put it away a few times and I kept seeing the fourth line out there. Luckily they didn't get burned

rangers played a meh game for the most part, against a team we are literally 2 or 3 times better than.

we got 2 goals from a line that saw about 6 to 7 minutes per linemate.

talk about an uneven distribution of ice time.

Were talking 4 games now where clearly the Prucha Dubinsky Dawes line has been the best on the ice when they actually play, and yet cant sniff the kind of ice time they should be getting. meh.

Oh Renney, your still good for a chuckle after a win.

Dubinsky is the sole factor on the only 2 goals we can score but yet Renney does not reward him with any icetime and he gets the amount of ice time a 4th line goon would get on any other team. I say on any other team because our forth line goon has been getting about 12 minutes of icetime for some reason.

That third line should be getting the minutes that Jagr is getting right now cuz they are producing a hell of alot more than he is. If Renney had balls, he would put Jagr on the 3rd line

Drury-Gomez-Shanny
Hossa-Avery- Jagr

what a nice little statement that would make huh?

At first it seemed like just an amusing anamoly, but now the lack of icetime he's giving the 3rd line is actually getting quite worrying. Even if he thinks they're bad defensively, he still gives them the same time in games we're trailing. 6:25mins for Dubinsky and 12:16 for Hollweg/Orr. What the...?

Started listening in late, predicted it was going to be 2-0 Buffalo and five straight trips to the box for the Rangers before I got to see the boxscore, and was surprised (if you can say that) when I found out I was completely wrong. I ended up getting in at the end of the first and could actually smile at the lead.

A win's a win, regardless of the score. Two points gained, and into a playoff spot -- for now. This can change in 24 hours. (I'm hoping it's not going to change.)

Worst part of the game, in my opinion, was the second period. I wish I could travel through cable cords to buildings, I swear. Four consecutive penalties, and one 5-on-3 situation. Luckily, they were all killed off. What is the problem with them and constant penalties? Is this their forte?

A nice win I suppose against a team that has really and truly hit the skids. Good thing we have 3 more against them. I also wonder how it is that Dubinsky, Prucha, Dawes--having scored both goals--got by far the least amount of ice time.

Hahah, I was thinking the same thing. Although I don't think thats fair to Avery or Straka for that matter.

my ideal lineup:

Straka Gomez Jagr
Avery Drury Shanahan
Prucha Dubinsky Dawes
Hossa Betts Korpikoski

Rozsival Malik
Tyutin Girardi
Mara Staal

the defense is kinda meh, because malik is getting first pair minutes, but i think rozy settles him down more than any other player, and id rather do some fear factor crap than see Strudwick out there. id love to see Baranka get a shot over Malik though.

I like it. Who would you pair Baranka with though? Rozy or Mara?

What freaks me out is the pace at which Avery is blindly checking. He's got a freeking bone chip in his wrists. I don't like his mentality of oh, it don't care about it anymore. He can permanently damage his wrists!

It looks like he doesn't care about staying for the Rangers for a long term. Ah well, he might as well destroy the both of them and then pull a Pavel Bure on us. I'm sure we'll miss Avery next year.
