Kessel

Rumor has it he doesn't fit in with their "scheme" and is on the trade block.

http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=465896

Would you like to see him in a CBJ uniform? I personally would since he wouldn't have the pressure of being in Boston and this is a kid(20) that was called the U.S. version of Crosby. I think Hitch(and his foot) could do wonders with this kid ala Mike Modano.

Discuss

Depends on what they're asking for him, of course. If he doesn't fit Boston's "scheme" like ... oh, say, Thornton didn't fit Boston's scheme ... send him our way.

Maybe Boston would have better luck if they just changed their scheme.

There's a lot worse people on the market, but what would Boston want for him?

Is there any real evidence that the B's are actually shopping him? All I see is a bunch of fans saying "he doesn't fit the system so we should dump him" and nothing to indicate that that's based on anything real.

Additionally, with the Thornton debacle still fresh on their minds and Brad playing like a Boyes among men (sorry.), I sincerely doubt the Boston front office would part with a center of Kessel's talent and youth.

Or perhaps this thread is a meta-reference to knee-jerk HF'ers?

Shhhhhhhhhh! For Pete's sake, don't tell them!! Whose side are you on!

Seriously, tho, I suspect rumors of the Broons desire to move Kessel are without foundation, but I'm sure they could find about 29 teams that would be happy to discuss the possibility.

Using the Thornton trade as a basis of comparison, it would look like this.

COLUMBUS GETS:
Phil Kessel

BOSTON GETS:
A puck bag (pucks not included)
One large box of zip ties
A wire shelf
Four broom handles
An empty bottle labeled "elixir"

I've seen it mentioned a a few sites(ESPN, Fox) so I think it's circulating around a little. I just think we should check into it, like I thought we should when NYI were shopping Torres(Klesla's teammate in Bram.). He's not too shabby in Edm. right now.

A Brule for Kessel swap would be great for us.

Torres tore his ACL on Dec. 15 and is sidelined indefinitely.
