Before you laugh too hard...hear me out. Buffalo has the cap room (if they choose to use it), Drury is (in some opinions) underperforming, Buffalo is in dire need of leadership, NY could use an all-star on the blue line for the playoffs and Buffalo and Campbell have broken off talks on a contract extension.

The questions remain: Does Drury want to return to Buffalo? Are the Rangers willing to part with him so early in a long term deal? Is the value equal? If the answers are yes, this might not be that outlandish a trade. Thoughts?
i'm sorry, but not a chance. drury just got here from buffalo (with a 5 year deal). We have to give him time , sure the season over half done. just wait till he breaks out, them you'll be sorry if we never got him or traded him

I think i speak for everyone around here when I say, yes, you have a valid point on this proposal, but you have no right to add laughing smilies to anyones trade proposal

Oops ! Sorry man thought you were that other Callahan

Are you mixing Callahan43 up with RCallahan43 (JOrts) or is the former that brutal with proposals as well?

Trade Drury for Campbell, then put together a package to get Richards out of Tampa.

Campbell is NOT a #1 defenseman.

I'd take both Campbell and Pominville for Drury. That's a lot more reasonable.

*** is with everyone wanting to get rid of Drury all of a sudden? The guy is doing pretty much exactly what he always does. I'll never understand why people think as soon as players put on the blueshirt they're transformed into 40 goal scorers.

Not everyone. He is doing a fine job here, I don't fault him. In a struggling Rangers team season-wide he is still constructively putting up similar numbers to his past years, and on top of all that doing everything we need him to defensively and with faceoffs. Drury won't ever be a 40 goal scorer, his last 2 years in Buffalo were probably his big prime years and he won't hit them again and that's fine with me. Drury's a great guy to have on your team.

Hmm....star center for a UFA...yeah sure..makes tons of sense. You know what lets trade Gomez for Karl Rachunek too while we're at it....yeah that's a great idea...think of all the cap space we could save by getting rid of these too guys. But hey why stop there....lets sign lundquist to a long term deal and then trade him for a UFA too....we could save tons of money...JESUS I'M BRILLIANT!!!

i will say what i said before.....campbell isnt that good......if you all think rozsival is suspect defensively then you dont want campbell.....

skating-above average
offensive ability-above average
defensive positioning-average(at best)

he takes himself out of position quite a bit.....it works well in buffalo because they like to rush from end to end and play run and gun hockey, but if he were on the rangers he would be a problem......kinda like mara, with better skating ability.....if he was on another team that played more offensive hcokey he would be better but on the rangers, where defense is stressed, he wouldnt be the same player

p.s.-drury is exactly the type of player the rangers need for their system

At least Ruff is more emotional then Renney. Imagine if the Rangers had that no goal against them in the 99 playoffs, Renney would just have that look and not say anything.
