[QUOTE=Lion Hound;11993793]Had the pleasure of not only meeting Scott Gomez last night but also spoke with him for a while about the current state of the team. He stopped and took the time to shake our hands. After a quick greeting I went right into it with him.

My brother asked him, what he though was the biggest problem right now.

He responded by saying that "penalties are killing them, and they are taking bad penalties at inopportune times" He commented that when he was a Dev, and someone took a bad penalty like that, they would lose a shift or two or possible worse" Said that on the Rangers "they don't discipline like that, but Renney should"

funny.. ive been wanting to see that exact thing for a cpl yrs now here(not even knowing any1 even did that) .. imagine we broke the penalties per game record and renney still wouldnt do anything ? lol

Betts probably does deserve an 'A' if anything. And plus, a 'Z' would mean of the best stature because an A is lower than a C.

betts is an incredible PK player. Blocks SO many shots, he deserves ATLEAST a B for what he does. nothin flashy, plays a different role for our organization.

but yes, he works hard always and would make a good A...but the thing is, usually it is people you look to to help you over the hump. blair does a great job and i want him back next year, but i truly doubt he will ever get a A since he SHOULDN'T (he has been lately) on the ice the final 2 minutes when we are down

Doubtful. He's never been a leader in the lockeroom and he has a chronic reputation as being immature. I just cant see that happening unless the Rangers clear house of a ton of veterans.

True.. a lot of people say "it's just a letter, leaders will lead whether or not they have it on their chest" which is true but it shows a lot more than just a letter.

Next year I'd like to see:

C - Drury
A - Gomez
A - Tyutin/Girardi (If we keep him)

(This assuming Shanahan, Straka, and Jagr aren't here)

I could also see Staal grabbing an 'A' in a couple years.

I could definitely see the whole Drury Briere rotating co-captain thing happening with Drury and Gomez. They're both winners and frankly, Gomez has impressed me more than Drury.

Yes, but in a hockey sense and leadership way I believe Drury holds the crown. Gomez is obviously the better player offensively.
