Teams with the tube noise makers...

Those things suck and are annoying, and how the hell are you supposed to drink a beer?! Fire the game presentation/marketting guy that came up with that idea for hockey. heh
I noticed the Flames fans have them in the warmup.

Who else has them?

I've only seen Vancouver towel adaptations or pom-poms in the NHL, and the foam worms!

They're called "thunder sticks" (trade name is ThunderStix, which is even worse), and we got them in Tampa AGAIN this year. I brought home a pair without blowing them up since they have a nice logo on them, but damn I hate them!! The sound of someone banging those behind your head goes straight through you, they're fun for one game and completely irritating after that.

I think I saw them in Boston too.

Thundersticks look ridiculous. Worst invention ever.

I had that same reaction when I first saw them in the MLB playoffs...cool at first....then they grate on you. It must suck because they obstruct the view of the ice too when people have them sticking above their heads.

They're annoying as hell. Went to an ECHL game last night and they were handing them out, the person right next to and behind me were banging away at them all night long

we don't need thundersticks to make noise at the tank. we're plenty loud without 'em. heh. especially after a dimitrakos ot goal, marleau hat trick, or mclaren mega-hit. we've had plenty to go nuts over so far these playoffs.

Ya, we had those back in the days of the grizzlies.

Always hated them. Gimme my pair of hands and my voice anyday.

The guys behind me kept popping them on each other by hitting them too hard, then laughing and spilling beer everywhere.

But.......... since sotnos hates them, they're awesome.

I would prefer a towel over them too, but we got them down here in Florida too. the Panthers starting giving them out either late last year or early this year.

wings seem to be giving towels out for 1 game, and thundersticks another.

the neat thing is, NOBODY in detroit is banging them together. Why? Because Detroit was smart enough [at least from the view of the cheap guys like me at home] Only give out 1 per seat. So all you can do is wave them red ******** up in the air, which looks cool. But you get no noise, which is better.

The whole point of the sticks is to make noise. Pretty stupid idea by the Wings to prevent them from serving their purpose.

Nothing's stopping the fans from hitting themselves or other people to make noise.
