Speak for yourself. Living in Montreal since the day I was born, I've always wondered that exactly myself? What makes you wanna leave a great nation? Cuz you feel different from them? Gimme a break..The seperatists are just giving themselves and everyone else undue hardships..for christ-sakes, be glad you live in a first world country and give it up! I'm sure some of those 3rd and 4th world nations would love to have some of these seperatists first world problems.

It's a waste of time and money that the government puts in to accomodate these seperatists. Personally, it's like kick the seperatists out..and then let the french-canadians, english canadians and just canadians in general, cuz that's what we all are...live in peace from this stupid ****!!

Great to hear and I have enormous respect for the Predators hockey fans after seeing them a little more in the spotlight (thak you Tootoo and making the playoffs) this year. I have a 4 year old boy who knows the words to O Canada and the Star Spangled banner and sing each beautifully.

Just a quick note... This isn't a political forum and it shouldn't be turned into one.

Whether we agree with the boos and whatever, it constitutes freedom of speech...and as much as Bush and his cronies are eager to take that right away from us, we still have the option of doing or saying what we wish.

I myself would never boo during the singing of "O Canada", and as far as our anthem, I can stand there and be quiet...if I'm at home watching the game, that's what the mute button on my remote is for. I would not sing our anthem, I will not recite the Pledge of Allegiance...that is my right. I respect the right of others to state their beliefs, either by boos and catcalls or dead silence, or whatever way they wish to manifest them.

My rights stop when they infringe on someone else's...your rights stop when they infringe on mine.

Kira, I disagree with the freedom of Speech argument. You can oppose the government but always respect the nation and those who have worked hard to make it a great nation. There is No reason to boo any country's anthem. When the Canadians were killed in Afghanistan, and other times i have been bothered by something Americans have done, I have never booed the anthem. I have quietly turned my back to their flag when the anthem was played as a form of silent protest.

I'll be honest with you, I don't want to separate, because I think Canada is the best place to live. But seeing how some Ontarians are ignorant, I can understand why 49% of the population voted Yes. Again, I'm against separation (because I think Province of Quebec isn't strong enough to be independant).

I agree. Closed one of these yesterday and I'm closing this one today. These threads always end up as Quebec-bashes.

Take it to the Politics board:
