La Zone - Alex Tanguay

Apologies ahead of time if I missunderstood something because French is my third language, hehehe...

On La Zone they said Tanguay said in an interview today with the Calgary Herald that it looks like the end has come for him in Calgary and they said Bob Sauve, Tanguay's agent, was at this morning practice alone with Sutter in Sutter's private box. Sauve hardly ever leaves his house and Sutter would need to discuss the waiving of the NTC with Sauve before he makes a trade.

I thought Sutter was still in Montreal tonight?

Anyway, Tanguay said that he didn't lift his NTC to the Herald.

Tanguay will not, based on his comment from last season, wiave his NTC to come to Montreal.

Lefebvre quoted comments made by Tanguay a year ago when the Flames visited the Canadiens in Montreal: "The media are so tough on the French guys here. If you think Toronto is bad, if you think Calgary is bad, for a French guy coming to Montreal? I don't think it gets any worse."

That was my thought. Unlikely Sutter was in Calgary this morning and Montreal tonight.

Sutter WAS in Calgary and Sauve was there, this is a fact! The question is, why did Sauve leave his home to go to Calgary. The guys at La Zone said Sauve would have only gone if something major was happening, nobody mentioned anything about Montreal or any other team, but they did say that an agent doesn't fly across the country to ask if his player will be traded, he does that on the phone.

I was more saying it was unlikely Sutter was in Montreal tonight than whether Sutter was in Calgary.

I don't think Tanguay has a lot of leverage to request where he goes in this situation. I'd welcome him in Montreal, but I sure wouldn't extend his contract unless he started racking up the points.

A NTC is all the leverage he needs. He has more control over where he goes than Sutter.

I remember that. It will bve hard to convince a great french player to come here IMO. Not impossible, but harder then the average great player..

A hot student teacher I had once went to School with Tanguay when he was playing for the Mooseheads. Apparently he's a real idiot.

Well it depends on which party is severing the relationship. If it's Tanguay, he has no leverage. It's probably Sutter though, in which case he has all the leverage, you're right.

If we could get him without touching our core I wouldnt be opposed to getting that guy(altho he's not exactly what we need). Only one year left on his contract. He has more assists than any Habs player this season. He's got speed and is responsible on the ice.

Well it depends how you look at it.
Speaking for myself, I wouldnt want to stay on a team that wants me out. So, you dont really have much of a choice...
The only real choice i see, is limiting which teams you want to be traded too and let your GM work with that.

But that's not what i call leverage really..

When did Koivu and Ryder become French? Was there a baptism of sorts that I missed?

And when did Tenderfoot become Russian?
