The Habs were hitting. The B's were hitting. The crowd was into it. There were some amazing saves. Flukey things happening...etc.
If the NHL wanted to showcase the way the games should be played. This is it (minus the last play). Although I can see why the slash wasn't called. It still was a slash. Personally...thinking about it after a good night's sleep, the ref should have blown the play dead. Green - 2 minutes for slashing. Kovalov - 2 minutes unsportsmanlike
That would have been the only fair call.
As much as I was thrilled to take the win. I would have rather the B's scored some other way.
I think it's funny that some are saying the B's cheated. They didn't cheat. It was a bad (no call). Three were plenty no calls all game. How many times (in other series' do we say something like a player needs to be decapitated before the ref will call something? This was another example.
But why are people conveniently forgetting that the Hab's had every opportunity to put the B's away and didn't.
Blow a 2 goal lead. Tied with 30 seconds left. That had nothing to do with the refs.
I still will not count the Habs out.
And here's the ultimate compliment. I can only hope the B's fans are as juiced up as the Habs fans were. Last night was a testament to how great they can be.
Great OT game... could have gone either way.
The NHL needs to retire McGeugh! He's horrible. He was awful in the Game 2, Flyers vs. NJ. When you know the name of the ref, you know he's trying to be bigger than the game. How many NBA, or NFL refs do you know by name?
