**** the NHL and the referees

Is it just me or is Montreal getting a huge amount of bad calls this year? Seems even worst then last year.

I mean, out of the 4 penalties we've gotten tonight, maybe 1 should really have been. Seems to be the case more often than not.

Is the league and refs biased against the Habs???

This sucks....thanks to the refs, NJ is winning 3-1....

I fact, the NHL overprotect MTL in my book. Giving bad call to any other team trying to outmatch them badly physically. But, in the fighting side, you're right; one time out of 2, when a CH player drop the gloves, he receives a stupid game misconduct.

Montreal is playing like crap.

Both calls have been frequent calls since the lockout.

I posted this in the gameday thread but did anyone else notice the Ref actually holding onto Koivu and not letting him pursue the puck on the 5-on-3?

I hate to agree. They were soft calls, no question. But Pleks and Begin have to watch what they do with their sticks. Can't do that stuff.

SKosty got away with a fake hook earlier too.

Just keep your sticks down, move your feet and go get the puck.

They started the game lazy, you could see it coming.

The refs do suck though.

It's official, the refs are stopping Koivu from playing well.

Thats just it. I don't like the calls as i think they are soft hockey and the NHL has gone overboard in terms of these types of fouls, but everyone in the league knows that they are being called so to complain about them now is stupid.

Which brings me to Carbs. Completely idiotic move getting that penalty. Its not going to help his case in the third, more likely expose the team even more.

Tonight is a bad night for the referees.

But this year, other than a few badly refferied games (like happens to most teams), I haven't really noticed any anti-habs bias.

I think Montreal is one of the least penalized teams this year.

Was surprised to see we're one of the least penalized teams in the league. That's rare.

RDS just showed the faceoff prior to NJ's third goal. *** is that?

I think we get even more BAD calls in OUR favor this season than calls not in our favor.
Last season it was the opposite so it's ok for me

You may want to give us a clue as to what that censored word is?

I've watched over a hundred NHL games this year, a lot of Canadiens, Leafs, Flames and Penguins games (Pens were just out of coincidence) and many other teams, and the NHL refereeing this year has been dog **** PERIOD. It's not just the Habs. It's all over the NHL.

I think many of us here would ask you the same question based on that comment.
