Brad Brown.

He played physical every game.McKee played more games but didn't play hard every game.Peters didn't play enough to have a presence.Z took dumb penalties.Mair would be a close 2nd.

Where's Dumont? His physical play really had him break through.

It did, but he's not the most physical. I voted for Mair, but see reasons to vote for a lot of people. The team played more physical and therefore better at the end of the season. Mair, in his limited ice time, seemed to make his presence known in almost every game. Whether it be in a fight or big check or just hitting everything that moved.

The most exciting and unexpected physical play came from Afinogenov and Jillson(there may be more but these two stuck out in my mind). I didn't know a whole heck of a lot about Jillson, but I never read anything about him willing to drop the gloves and make a hit every so often the way he has done so far as a Sabre. And Maxim sticking up for his teammates and fighting through more Dmen is a delight to see. I'm not saying that either of these guys are in the same league physically as those on this list, but is a great thing to see.

I'd have picked McKee if he could stay healthy. I think this was his best season in years.

Mair, even when he was "invisible" early on he didn't stop hitting.

Peters, and Brown definitely deserves to be on this list.

Dumont is being overrated for his performance this year. I'm not saying he had a poor season, he had a good one, but IMO he'll always be an inconsistent 20 goal man. There were a lot of games this season where I didn't like what I saw-although he's not the only one. (Satan, Pyatt, Kotalik, and Tallinder are some other examples of inconsistent players this year)

The difference between Dumont in this year and in previous years is that this year he was very consistent (after Ruff moved him to the 4th line). Dumont earned his temporary captaincy.
