Maybe. I hate Lang so sign me up.

BTW Buff is a healthy scratch tonight. Let the speculation begin.

Lang's not my type of player either, but I'd like to think he'd help our inconsistent PP, and bring some veteran experience to the table. Injuries are becoming a problem - Connolly, Afinogenov are out and tonight Stafford went down.

How's Bolland progressing?

Interesting news on Byfuglien...

He's in the minors.

No one is progressing and no one will until we get a real coaching staff.

BTW Lang won't help your PP. LAZZZZZZZZZZY.

Lazy, and he sucks!

Feel free to adopt the slogan that we had last year for him..

For a dissenting opinion, I love Lang, he's one of my favorite Blackhawks. Afinogenov is like Samsonov, why don't you ship him off to Calgary. For better or worse, Mike Smith ruined Chicago for all -ov's.

I wouldn't trade just Bolland for Afinogenov. Bolland is our future #2 center, plays with a lot of fire, and has good hands and hockey sense. He is the whole package.

Totally agree!

Buffalo fans need to realize Afinogenov is not that valuable an asset. As an earlier post stated he reminds me of Samsonov, he flies around, dangles the puck but never accomplishes anything.

I remember back in May/June when Sabre fans were pushing Afinogenov as the centre piece in a deal to acquire the first overall pick from the Hawks. They were insulted when I suggested that it would take atleast Afinogenov, Stafford and a first in return. Well now I wouldn't even accept that package for Kane. While Stafford still intrigues me, Afinogenov holds absolutely no value in my eyes.

Wow, people are really down on Afinogenov after a slow start to the year. Afinogenov has scored over a PPG over the last 2 seasons combined, hardly flying around and not accomplishing anything.

He is also signed to a nice contract. Very good value for a PPG. For some reason expectations for him are always high, likely due to his speed and stick handling. He is a very nice 2nd line RW signed to a very good contract.

I would rather have him than Lang. Bolland I would certainly be interested in though.

I don't know why you all underrate Afinogenov here.

You forrget how he played the years before this year. Ok, he had a weak start this year but that doesn't mean that he isn't worth anything.

I see a fast skater, who can finish, and who got a god stick handling.

Afinogenov scored 134 points in 133 games from 2005-2007.

Painting him with the same brush as Samsonov is completely uninformed.

Sabres fan here...Afinoganov is a decent player but hasn't showed he's a center piece. As with so many current Sabres, he did well with a stellar bunch around him (again with Drury/Briere) that other teams didn't have the ability to focus on them. Now these 2-3rd line players have to live up too, and play against 1st/2nd line types and they do not flurish. They all did well against 3rd/4th line players but not any longer....ask Vanek about playing against top 5 guys now. Afinoganov has value, ie if you can put him with a solid center who can skate and not count on him for defense. He needs a change and so do the Sabres with him.

By the way, he's one of my fav Sabres....totally exciting to watch. Too bad it's come to moving him but it's time.

Thats why he was the wings whipping boy. He'll score a big goal, then be lazy the next 3-4 games.

Afinogenov has been incredibly inconsistent. But I think it's funny how people read the stat sheet and then compare him to Samsonov because of his ethnicity and because of the way he skates. Max is far superior to Samsonov.

That's true! He did average a point a game over two years while Briere and Drury were drawing the attention of the other teams top checkers. This year when he can be considered one of buffalo's go to guys, he has 18 points in 38 games.

Well I seem to recall early in Samsonov's career he had back to back 25 goal, 70 point seasons. So maybe the comparison isn't so uninformed. Only time will tell for sure though.
