[a rookie of the year poll would be pointless]

Not much to choose from. I'm going with Bartovic. He's been on of my favorites since he first put on the Amerks jersey and I'm thrilled in the effort he's brought this year. Kind of an atypical checking liner player.

On the flip side Peters gave me exactly what I expected and I thought Roy would be a regular by the time the season ended so neither of them qualified as surprises.

I agree with Bartovic. Roy and Afinogenov seemed to play well together, but they got even more exciting when Bartovic was put on the line with them, He brought more energy and physical play.

Everyone expected Roy to be up in Buffalo before the end of the season, and his play was about what was expected. Peters did what was expected of him also.

I gotta go with Drew. He came out of nowhere in camp. He's got razor written all over him and will be a vital component of this team.

i almost went for peters because i figured he was going nowhere within the organization and i thought nothing of it when he played a lot in camp/preseason
bartovic just brought so much to the table though
and he drew a jackload of penalties

I wasn't surprised by Bartovic. When we ranked prospects before the start of this year, I had Bartovic around #7 or so. Similarly, I am not surprised by Roy either.

That leaves Peters, who did surprise me with the improvement in his play over the course of the season. His improved balance was also a pleasant surprise.
