Pain in the Glass - Go Avery!

TSN is running a poll to see who is the best agitator in the league. It's dubbed "Pain in the Glass" Currently Avery is way out in the lead. GO AVERY!! Hollweg is also on the list. Funny thing is, I don't see Tucker on there and he should be.

Yea Tucker should be there over Hollweg, but it doesn't matter as Avery is the undisputed world champion of this category.

If it's 4 years ago, Tucker would be on the list. Not today.

Honestly, Avery's "irritating" factor has begun to wear off. It's no surprise that players like Barnaby saw their acts wear thin. A successful super pest is a short lived endevour. It doesn't take too long for players to just tune you out completely.

Avery is FAR more successful when he shows up on the scoresheet first. If the antics take centerstage, you have another repeat of his disappearance in the Buffalo series.

Exactly, but it's not even as if players have tuned him out completely yet. Avery just isn't a blabbermouth like last year. I'd say he's more of an enforcer with a little skill now. Agitator.. nope. This is the Avery we've missed since his last comeback.

Both Avery and Tucker have toned down their antics lately.
I'd say the TSN guys made pretty good nominations, i.e. Burrows, Boll and Carcillo.
Downie is just a dangerous git.

I voted for Downie, Avery hasn't been too bad this year.

after being at the flyers-rangers game yesterday, avery has my vote. pregame, when he was stretching at the bench, he was giving us flyers fans sign language that amounted to "blow me". pretty funny actually...

I kinda shocked no mention of Steve Ott or Kyle Barch. I watch some Stars games and those 2 guys always yapping. I wanted Ott in the 2000 draft but we did not have a first round pick that year. maybe sather gets some more grit up front at the deadline.

i'm surprised no ones mentioned the meetings sean avery has had with the nhl brass about his antics after the jeff blake thing. maybe thats a reason why he's toned it down this season.

Avery has missed like half the season and a lot of what he has played was still carrying the wrist injury. Once he's 100%, when he can back it up, I think he goes right back to being the world-class pest again.

That's great. I was in Philly last March and he was yapping at the Flyers fans during the pregame skate. He definitely enjoys the rivalry.
