putting value behind the LAK loss

after seeing the Kings manhandle the Wings last night in Detroit.
Are the Kings and Ducks the hottest teams in league right now?
Did we play to our level?

No way. We handed the game to them on a silver platter by messing up royally in our own zone, countless of times. LA came in with speed and this team has no against that.

As for Ducks, well, they are a Cup contender.

Well the Kings have won 8 out of their last 11.

However, the Ducks, only are on a 2 game winning streak after defeating us, before that, they lost 6 in a row at 0-5-1, so, hardly the hottest team in the league.

The Kings are a prime example of timing is everything.

In their current streak they win without their best players and with the best players. They more or less have the same roster as their cold streak.

Any team can hot and have it come together.

Timing is everything.

as long as you've managed to at least hang with the pack so there is not to big a hill to climb to make the playoff seeding

Imagine if LA took Bryzie?

**** timing.

Any team in the NHL can beat any other team on any given night.

Look at the standings, EVERY team has ups and downs, its dealing with the adversity - fighting through and actually WINNING the games that matters.

The Rangers easily could have beaten either the Kings or the Ducks or both.

Its about work ethic. What do you hear from EVERY NHL COACH AFTER A LOSS THESE DAYS?

"We didnt come to work, they outworked us and they got the chances to win"

"we have to come with more intensity"

All the time. And even when the rangers HAVE come to work and outplayed their opponent, they have a brainfart for 1:45 and let in 2 or 3 goals. Or they have 45 shots from the perimeter and arent getting dirty enough to get goals, and then the other team comes down and pops one in on a 2 on1 or 3 on 2.

This team is not scoring the big goals, and RISING ABOVE THE ******** WHEN THEIR WORK ETHIC ISNT GOOD ENOUGH.

How many games have the Rangers "stole" this year?... not many. They just arent finding ways to win. They are finding ways to lose.

The Kings beat the Red Wings by scoring 4 goals in the 3rd period, in Detroit, against the team that has given up the least 3rd period goals in the NHL.

I think this ranks above "any team can beat any team", especially when records indicate one "any" team is one of the worst, and the other is one of the best.

Last season the chance that a team comes back from 3-1 was 13.5%. I haven't run the numbers yet this year (I will), but you could assume they are similar.
