My Lines

Perron McDonald Boyes
Kariya McClement Stempniak
Mayers Tkachuk Backes
King Johnson Hinote

the PMB line was amazing against Tampa
Kariya didn't look good with Tkachuk and Backes, IMO... another possibility could be Tkachuk centering Kariya and Stempniak. Regardless, I'd like to see Stempniak and Kariya on a line.

That 2nd line really doesn't work. You need Tkachuk there like you recommended in your postscript.

Get McClement off the 2nd line, he's one of the worst players on the team. I'd put freaking DJ King in as the center on that line over him.

Completely disagree about McClement (but that has been hashed out ad nauseum on this forum). Although King has looked solid on the line with Stempniak and McClement.

Other than his goals, Tkachuk has been looking progressively worse. I know he has the flu, but he hasn't had it for two months. It's really good to see him back to going to the front of the net and deflecting pucks, however, that shows how much more valuable Tkachuk becomes when you have defensemen who can shoot the puck on net, and wingers who can control and move the puck (back to the defense for shots).

Perron-McDonald-Boyes
Tkachuk-McClement-Kariya
Stempniak-Backes-King
Hinote-RJ-Mayers

Feel free to rotate Kariya, King, and Mayers - as well as Tkachuk and Stempniak. But start with something looking like that and see how it goes.

Backes has been great lately and I'd like to see an experiment with him at center and Tkachuk back on wing. That setup also puts Kariya in the role of shooter on the second line, and he really needs to shoot more. McClement working down low or on the left side, Tkachuk on the left side or in front of the net, and Kariya on his off-wing - I dig it. If Backes clicks as Stempniak's center and you can get Kariya scoring some more, you can have three lines with good shooters.

I think were just buying time till next year with lines. Atleast I hope that's the case with the line shuffle. Although I really enjoy watching the Perron-McDonald-Boyes line.

What I would like to see is the above mentioned then line 2 should be Kariya-Walt-Stempy then you can do a Jammer-McClement or RJ-Backes. Then the last line can be plug and go depending on who were facing that night.
Next year is when our 3rd line should start to breath decent scoring with Oshie and whoever else follows. Oshie will play wing until the blues upper crest decide he has enough exp and go at C. So I see him playing wing next year then possibly transition into C the following year when we lose Walt.

This reflects my prognostications on lineups, using only players already in the organization, minus those I predict will no longer be here (Jackman, Backman, etc.)
Most of you will find these lineups far too rookie-heavy. I understand that point of view.
That said, these really are my ideal lineups, and I think they will be exciting to watch.
All line combos reflect a commitment to a balanced attack and even distribution of TOI.

Brandur, I don't understand the projection for Ryan Johnson and Salvador to stick with the team for one year. They're both UFA's, do you expect them to sign to one-year deals, or two year deals and trade them? Mayers, McKee, and Brewer also disappear a year early. If the team is playoff bound, they won't be chucking everyone out the window like that.

Do you really see the team re-signing Dupont and Stastny, but ditching Hinote and McClement? It would also be nice to see them hang onto McDonald, but he only has a year left under contract as well.

I also believe Mojzis is no longer Blues property.

It just seems like your predictions are based first - on perfect linear and quick development of many prospects; second - on the assumption that every player is automatically traded with one year remaining on a contract (other than Stempniak and McDonald, I guess); and third - on seemingly random signing of players. Woywitka is a RFA, it's assumed (inexplicably?) that he is on the team for two more seasons and then disappears. Cole and Hellstrom make the team season after next, but Wagner is just the seventh defender?

I also dig projecting lines and development, and I am in no way asking for you to explain all of these details. I just thought I'd bring some of them up in case you hadn't thought it through, or, if you had thought it through, you might rethink it.

Wow...well this looks decent. Though some people are here longer or gone before their supposed to be. I see Martin Kariya making the team before Palushaj. But I have to ask. Who do you have as our captian? Stempniak? McDonald? E.J.?
