I posted over on the Rangers board since 2000. Had some real good discussions there, and there are some very knowledgeable posters there. But...the board itself is just not moderated the right way. Like you mentioned, dozens of the same topics. Over and over. Instead of someone putting thier 2 cents in, they start a new thread. It's a free-for-all there. This site is way, WAY better. Alot fo the best posters from that site have already made thier way over here. And untill that board gets moderated, it will continue to dissapoint.
We actually have hockey IQ's and to those people who mess up on these forums, they get grilled and basted like no other. You must post up correct stuff or else. We say what we have on our minds, that's the true NY Sports fan mentality.
Tell me about it. I did one of those veepers things with Jagr's head saying he's going to be better than ever, that he's regrowing the mullet, and that he's gonna lead the Rangers to the Cup and this guy flips out on me because it was uncalled for or something. So I tell him to go buy a sense of humor and I get banned.
This board is virtually the same thing. The only reason there's not 50 threads about something is because anytime anyone makes a second thread about something there's the core group of people who freak out because there's already another thread about it. I'd say 75% of people who post on this board think the Rangers have no shot and want to get rid of everyone. This website has a much better layout in my opinion though.
FUNNY POST. I posted at the Ranger board for a couple of years now and this afternoon finally accepted that it has really deteriorated over the past few months. I used to go on and look at the thread page and see interesting topics, while now it's the same stuff everday phrased in a million different ways. I also think it has gotten really negative with some serious "non thoughtful" bashing going on everytime we loose.
I think its better than the Rangers website board because fans of other teams can come on and tell you all how much you're all overreacting when some of you think (or act as if) the Rangers have zero chance of making the playoffs this year.
