Absolutely.

He is our #1 goaltender in Hartford.

Plus, looks like he will be next year as well, Montoya is a RFA. We are definitely trading him.

Wishful thinking... Hoping that this minor victory will ease the pain of passing up on Parise, Getzlaf, Perry, etc... I dunno. Your guess is as good as mine.

Wiikman is technically not the NY Rangers property. He is on an AHL contract with Hartford and theoretically can sign with any team in the NHL. I'm sure there is a modicum of loyalty and that won't happen, but until he is signed by the Rangers I can't see why he would appear on our top prospects poll. That would be like putting Fabian Brunnstrom on this poll.

I'm not gonna break the prospect poll rules...even for Wiki who is outplaying Monty.

When he gets the NHL contract, he'll be added

Plus it would be silly to add him now since he probably would have went before #18 so it would be inaccurate.

eh, i can respect that.

But you're still a pansy.

btw, I voted for Hugh.

Hes having his best year so far, and hasnt had trouble staying with the team this year. in short, hes improved.

Is he the first line power forward we were hoping to draft? no, not yet, probably not ever, but you cant take away from what he has accomplished. Hes done what weve asked of him, to improve.

btw, here were Dubinskys numbers last year in Hartford.

71 games, 21 goals 22 assists 115 pim

Heres Jessimans so far..

45 games, 10 goals, 12 assists 102 pim

extrapolate to 71 and you get:
71 games, 16 goals, 19 assists, 161 pim

take from that what you will....

Our resident writer Leslie recently wrote an analysis of our pro prospects in Hartford and Charlotte. While Hugh may not be our best prospect down there he has made progress this year. He seems more committed and is contributing some offense--maybe not enough--has had 10 fights--has size--needs to learn to use it better. I know some here like Zaborsky--that is their perogative. I'm not sure he's much more than Jakob Petruzalek redux. Potter and Kveton are next for me.

Despite the progress he's made this season, I still think Potter has a better shot at making it as a full-time NHLer than Jessiman.

Disagree. They are about equal. Both are safe bottom level guys with the potential to climb.

But I do think both will be NHLers. Whether with the Rangers or not is up to them and their play.

I voted Jessiman. The others on the list could fade just as fast as Hugh has in the fans minds so why not him?
