Avery is actually the newest member of the NWO, and he and Kevin Nash will powerbomb Sather through a table at the next press conference.

lord knows i'm no supporter of malik, but even he's miles ahead of strudwick. strudwick's like an old dog, just take him out back and shoot him already, he's useless, enough with the "he's liked by everyone on the team" bullcrap, this is a business, it's seen clear as day strudwick is not an every game player. he's a 7th defenseman, a spare part.

Wow this thread is fun.......

I just perused through much of it.....amazed

Let me just add that last season, Sean Avery lit this team up down the stretch. The last month of the season is going to be INTENSE and every game crucial....again.

Thats when we'll need that fire the most.

We need to get another edgy forward in here who can light a fire under Avery's ass all the time. Preferably a healthy one with an expiring contract!

its a win/win for NYR fans if he wins the rangers win a fight and if he loses its only Malik. So after the fight either way fans will be on thier feet clapping.

Avery and Malik should fight during the game itself.

That was probably the whole purpose of what happened.

If you have a race horse who runs his best in a 3/4 mile race, and you keep entering him in 1 mile races and he keeps losing is it the horses fault or the owner who keeps putting him in the wrong race?
Amen...

I think the position Avery is in is not ideal, not to mention 2 wrist injuries has to be affecting him. He's the last of the problems. He had a bad game.... i think this was a case of trying too hard/too much emotion. Certainly a rare thing with this team...

But fine, let's say you're right and he's not as good as he was last year because he doesn't 'agitate' as much. But how can half of the people be complaining that he needs to knock off the antics while the other half say he's not doing it enough? Interesting.

And him not showing up for the playoffs? Is that a joke. or an exaggeration? He seemed to be a huge factor in the Atlanta series, got Kovalchuk completely off his game while out scoring the big two to ice the cake. True, he layed in egg against Buffalo but that hardly qualifies as not showing up fo rthe entire playoffs. Facts seem to be a convienience around here lately.
First and foremost play a solid team game, then do all the agitating you want, but be smart. Some nights, this year more than last, he's barely been there. I understand he's been injured, so save it.

Bottom line is the guy was one of the worst players on the ice the other night cause he couldnt keep his emotions in check. Fine, you're playing the team that traded you and you had bad blood with. But don't say in the pregame "we just have to focus on playing our game and not worry about what LA will do" then go out and act like a selfish little meathead.

I never mentioned anything about last years playoffs, thats all you Mug.

The teams of the early 2000s were teams that didn't try... This team under Renney has tried from day 1. There are the occasional slow spots, but that happens with every team.

And every time the Rangers are not getting the better of the play doesn't mean that they aren't trying. It actually does sometimes mean that the other team is just playing better at that moment.

I don't think so. They don't seem to be able to get in sink with their goalie. That is it.

94...

I know you have had issues with Lundqvist forever, but a team that scored, on average, a little less than 2.50 goals per game, in many cases is fighting for the 8th playoff spot. Put another way, the Rangers are 28th in the league in goal scoring - that stat alone should tell you where in the standings they ought to be (only Anaheim and the Islanders are worse). Conversely, they are #5 overall in goals against. That's pretty respectable. So while it seems that Lundqvist hasn't been good, it appears that this team should be scoring more goals.

Sorry for the confusion. I know that wasn't you, but just a running theme in the thread that irritated me. I guess I should have prefaced that to avoid this.
